Hubby bought a portable DVD player for his downtime at work, which he spends in a truck, parked at various locations.
I asked him for a list of movies he wanted, and in addition to the usual stuff (Caddyshack, Uncle Buck, Tommy Boy, etc.), he said something sexy might be nice too.
He liked Red Shoe Diaries. What else is out there like that? I’ve never seen Diaries, so I don’t know where to start, how explicit it is, whether there’s a story to go with the sex. He’s watched some of the sexy movies on Showtime and Pay Per View, but he’s always bitching that there’s no plot, the boobs are fake, and it doesn’t look like the participants are having any fun.
He doesn’t like really outrageous sex, people doing things with animals and food (thank heaven).
Any suggestions? I guess I could just get him Red Shoe Diaries, but it looks like there’s a continuing story with those, and I don’t know where to start.
Are we tiptoeing around the obvious? Should we be getting this man some honest-to-goodness PORNO movies? It’s a huge industry that caters to every possible taste and interest, so there’s bound to be something he likes, or something you two can agree on.
Sopranos seasons are expensive (around $100 I think) but it is an amazing show. But if you guys don’t have HBO, just jumping into the show will suck, despite sex scenes. I rented every single disc that are avaiable (5 seasons) and it took me forever. But getting him season one if he is also into mob-sort of stuff (like Goodfellas etc) he should dig the Sopranos.
Out of Sight, with Jennifer-before-she-was-J.Lo-Lopez and George Clooney as a Federal Marshal and a bank robber, is one of the sexiest movies I’ve ever seen. The dialogue is snappy, the acting on all parts (supporting characters played by Don Cheadle, Steve Zahn, Catherine Keener, and Ving Rhames, among others) is excellent, and it’s just…hot. Great pacing and editing.
A friend of mine is an extra in this movie, although I don’t remember where he is. But it is good – the only thing I’ve ever liked Jennifer Lopez in.
Sin City is extremely violent, with some of the violence against women, but it also has some really sexy parts, with gorgeous women in hot outfits. Jaime King, Rosario Dawson, and Devon Aoki are ass-kicking hookers, Carla Gugino is the hottest parole officer ever, and Jessica Alba is a stunning stripper.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Sirens is one of the sexiest movies ever, in spite of the presence of Hugh Grant. Tara Fitzgerald, Elle McPherson, Kate Fischer and Portia DeGrassi ALL get EXTENSIVELY and artistically naked and the movie itself is funny and sweet and smart. Two twiddly thumbs up wherever they’ll do the most good, I say! I also found Y tu mama tambien quite hot and fun, good couples movie. Gael Garcia Bernal, yum yum!
No tiptoeing. He’s watched a lot of porn, and he complains that there’s no story. He wants some romance. Romance with hot sex, people who at least know and maybe even like each other.
Johnny L.A., thanks – I’ll check out the previous thread. I tried a couple of searches before I posted but it didn’t come up.
We have Season 1 and have been watching it religiously. The season with Sciorra is a favorite.
Okay, I’ve ordered Sirens and Out of Sight. I think he’s seen Secretary, but I’ll check. Crash and Sin City will probably be on HBO soon, because they’ve just recently been on PPV.
Did you guys know that Out of Sight has attained collector status? Amazon didn’t have any new ones for sale, so I bought used. Some sellers were asking $50 and more.
I think Last Tango In Paris is vastly overrated, but Pauline Kael thought it was the tops, so maybe I just don’t get it. I liked Bertolucci’s The Dreamers better–Eva Green is, just, uh, wow–but it’s pretty freaky, what with the pseudo-incestual quasi-romantic triangle and so forth. Then again, if people are recommending Secretary…
Don’t let anyone talk you into The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, And Her Lover, though. I don’t have anything against Helen Mirren, but this is on the short list of films I wished I’d walked out of but didn’t. Live and learn.
