Recommend me a Wii game!

One of the reasons I went for the Wii over a PS3 or XBOX is I want the games to be simple enough for any of my friends/family to be able to pick up and enjoy immediately, so I don’t want any of those games that take 15 button combinations to turn the character around.

If you will regularly play with other people, and want the Wii to be social gaming, I’ll echo the recommendations for Warioware, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Mario Party 8, all of which are minigame compilations, with many interesting ways to use the remote, sometimes lasting only a moment or two per minigame. Of the three, I’d recommend MP8, which has a good overarching “board game” beyond the minigames.

On the horizon is the Wii killer app: Super Smash Bros Brawl. Lighthearted one-on-one (well, up to four players) fighting game that will have all sorts of cooperative and competitive fighting modes. And online play.

Can’t wait for the Star Wars game to be released. The Wii seems almost made for light sabers!

One would think gamemakers would realize the potential. But stay away from Prince of Persia which sucked in too many ways to describe, but I’ll point out one thing: in a typical swordfight, you have to shake the wiimote a certain number of times and hope you score a hit.
It’s a revamped version of an '05 release for PS2, I think. A version written for the Wii could be cool though.
