I almost always have some music playing in my head. But I’ve noticed over the years that there are some songs that pop in over and over again. And most of the songs aren’t even ones that I particularly love. For a couple, I know the external stimulus that triggers them. For example, one is “Diamond Girl” by Stevie B, which is triggered by a regular e-mail I get. I probably haven’t actually heard that song in 25 years. I have no idea what triggers most of the others, but I’ve spent the last few months jotting down the ones that keep popping in:

So am I the only one with this affliction?
