Iced tea?
Cheap as hell if you make it at home, and you could even bring in sweetened & unsweetened versions if you’re feeling fancy-pantsy.

Root beer is the natural companion to pizza.
I’m rather partial to a good Burgundy with pizza.
Bucking the trend here — I prefer water or tea with pizza. It makes me so thirsty that I end up drinking way more than I usually do with a meal … and all that carbonation just bloats the heck out of my poor tummy.
So, bring me some bottled water.
That works too. In my mind, essentially any lighter-bodied red with good acidity and a nice fruit profile goes well with pizza (and a variety of tomato-based foods).
Dr Pepper Heritage with the pizza. Normally, it would be a strong beer of some type.
I truly wish that chilled water and tea were offered at all office celebrations. (Since wine & beer are usually out of the question, alas.) Along with soft drinks for the masses–but I’d like to avoid the calories & diet sodas taste weird to me.
Even worse–those office “celebrations” where cake is served. Generally a cake topped with blue, sugary flowers. Usually accompanied by various soft drinks plus an extra-cloying “fruit” punch. I can understand not having alcohol–but why must the beverages be extra childish? What’s wrong with coffee, tea & ice water?
Actually, I like milk with pizza.
There’s nothing wrong with them, it’s just that they’re boring. Soda is way more fun. I think the carbonation has something to do with it.
She is a philistine have no more contact with her and your life will be better for it.
If you can afford it and you really want to make an impression, get your hands on as many different flavors of Jones soda as you can and mix them all together in an ice bucket.
That’s pretty mean. To the Burgundy.
yup a little mean for sure.
Original Coke in a glass bottle (it tastes better!)
For work, a balance of caffeinated / non-caffeinated, diet and sugared.
If you really want to have folks drink them, forget your prejudice against caffeinated coworkers and buy some Coke / Pepsi / Dr Pepper anyway. And on the diet front, diet Coke is usually the default, even though it tastes watered down (my preferance is Coke Zero).
So maybe Coke / Pepsi, Sprite, Coke Zero, diet Sprite and if you need a couple of more bottles, variations of Dr Pepper and root beer.
Just my $.02.
I think it depends on the pizza. (Slightly.) Generally, I like a cabernet with pizza.
Coke may be more appropriate for a Pizza Hut processed-cheese-in-the-crust type thing. (Though you wouldn’t go wrong with a dolcetto there, either.)
Bagels with orange juice.
Chocolate chip cookies with milk.
Green tea with sushi.
Coffee with doughnuts.
Yak’s blood with baby seal hearts.
I crave for milk when I’m having something with tomato-based sauce, like pizza or pasta.
Flavored mineral water is a really great option. It’s nice to have the citrus to “cut” the greasy flavor, while still avoiding sugar, which makes the pizza taste funny.
I’m a fan of the “Zazz” which I think belongs to Safeway.
