Reese's Peanut Butter Cups question

4 years, and sanity STILL hasn’t prevailed?!?!

Hardly. Quill is an office-supply company. Calling it a peanut butter wildebeest or a peanut butter protostar does not make it so.

You will note that the word “bar” does not appear on the candy’s wrapper.

That is a completely different product than the cup. They are a grid of PB filled squares.

Here is a clearer picture.

I voted no, but since yes is winning I guess I can start calling my gold coins gold bars! I feel much richer now!

Sanity has prevailed, as the poll majority shows the correct anwser of yes.

Polls predicted Clinton winning.

Just sayin’

I can buy candy at Office Depot too.

And “bar” does not appear on the wrapper of a Peanut Butter Cup either.

Now I’m off to eat some M&M candy bars

Another Halloween, another reposting of this important question…

And another urgent request that everyone learn to pronounce it correctly.

What’s the incorrect way?

ReeSeez (rhymes with feces). I have no idea why so many people say it that way or how it started but it truly makes me stabby. No smiley face.

I’ve never heard that pronunciation. But yeah, it’s totally incorrect.

Sorry, that’s how I pronounce it in my dialect of English. So, it cannot be incorrect.

:p:p:pSilence! I keeeeeeel you!

Ree-seez pee-seez, NOT a candy bar.
ETA: The bar is the shape of the thing, see?

If the shape is the only thing that matters, is a Mike and/or an Ike a candy bar then?

I’d call those lozenges. Or jellybeans.

No, they’re not really a candy bar.

But for purposes of stuff like this, they’re comparable enough to candy bars that it makes sense to, well, compare them in this way.

I have always pronounced “it” as it’s spelled.

I wonder how many of those who mistakenly say Reese’s is not a candy bar also mistakenly think Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. The correlation might be interesting.
