Reince, Priebus, Repeat?

Anyone heard anything yet about removing this assclown from the chairmanship of the GOP? Seems to me he did a pretty poor job of running the party, and did little to enhance his national reputation, which was nil before his chairmanship. As a matter of simply acknowledging that they screwed up and will do better next time, seems to me that he ought to become history (or in his case, trivia) very shortly.

I heard he will be seeking the chairmanship again, though what his chances are is unknown.

Props for the thread title, btw.

I’ve been sitting on that one for a while.

The Republicans don’t judge RNC Chairmen by silly things like election results. After all, Michael Steele had a very successful election in 2010. They judge RNC Chairmen by much more useful things, like willingness to deny reality, strength of conviction in denying reality, and strangeness of name.

Wasn’t one of the questions they asked chairmen candidates in the last RNC election, “Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to be president?”

The RNC Chair seems to reflect the value of the party powers. These are the guys who will control the primary rules and present the national image of the party, which the candidates typically run from. They usually meet at the country club, and they had to get rid of Steele because he wasn’t allowed in.

It was pretty clever, but not laugh-out-loud for me since I literally always read that name in my mind as “Prince Rebus”, so I didn’t get the joke for a second.

Priebus claims he already has the votes for election to another term. Of course he would say that whether it was true or not.

Which, BTW, is another important criterion for selecting the Chair.
