This is painfully expected. Anything that pushes agains the mainstream narrative gets attacked. And that it is done by New York Magazine raises it to almost parody level. The game with a lot of this is to try to find a criticism and then consider it “debunked”! Ridiculous.
So, feel free to discount it. If you don’t feel she is trustworthy, good for you. I do.
Of course they do. But we also have to take into account that for the majority of kids experiencing gender dysphoria, most will no longer have it if allowed to go through puberty. If it were my kid, I’d get him all the psychiatric help I could and wait until he’s older, at least 18, to make sure that’s what he wants to do. Given the success puberty has with eliminating or easing gender dysphoria, it seems that not waiting is nuts.
Hey, I’m not the one arguing for policies that kill children, on the grounds that they might regret having the option to not go through irreversible changes.
I’ll admit to not knowing the risks of chemo. If they are great, we should be more careful in administering it.
You bring up “uncommon risks”. Well let’s talk about common solutions. If a large majority of kids with gender dysphoria have their dysphoria go away after puberty, shouldn’t we encourage them to go through it?
But he’s not your kid he’s some other persons kid who knows his situation a hell of a lot better than you ever could, yet you are declaring that you know better and so that decision should be taken away from that parent, her child and his doctor based on your gut feeling.
We are. We only give it based on careful diagnosis, evaluation, and prescription by a doctor, after consultation with the patient and (if the patient is a minor) their guardian. Just like we do with puberty blockers.
In neither case does “be more careful” mean “we should pass laws prohibiting doctors from ever prescribing it for anyone under the age of 18”.
No it was not. Most of the media wasn’t able to report anything meaningful on it, because the “media” sources you trust deliberately sabotaged the evidence.
You missed the most important word in what you quoted: “more”.
And the comparison with chemo is not a good one. As far as I am aware, chemo is recommended in order to save someone’s life from, say, pancreatic cancer…there is a near certainty that the person will die soon or it will spread and then kill them a bit more slowly. The case is not the same for trans children. And keep in mind, that many kids with gender dysphoria have other psychological problems, so you might be treating something that is not even the true cause of their unhappiness. Again, puberty will correct the problem for the vast majority.
Not a hijack, dope. It was one example to point out that we should be cautious about where cites reside. But I’m not surprised that you either don’t get that or are trying to derail it because you don’t want to answer. But here it is again anyway:
Still waiting for your response about the laptop. Was it or was it not suppressed by the entire media? Yes or no?
Also even if it wasn’t sabotaged, there was no “there” there. Guilliani hasn’t produced a damn thing that actually shows Joe Biden doing anything illegal. But if Magellan01 wants to pursue this further I recommend going here as it has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.
