Fear of Trans Bodies
Lily Alexandre lays it out plainly.

“I’m pretty troubled by the anti-trans movement arguing that our bodies are objectively inferior and that our outward imperfections are proof of internal imperfections. We have a word for this kind of speech: it’s EUGENICS. I want to emphasize that this is not petty harassment, it’s not trolling; it’s an incitement to violence that should be setting off alarm bells!
The American academic Henry Stanton introduced a 10-stage model of how genocide happens and, going by that, the trans community is approaching the halfway point. First comes classification. Then symbolization. Then discrimination. These were all achieved before I was born; to me they’ve been a fact of life. But describing people as physically diseased and at risk of transmitting that disease to innocent people slots right into phase 4: ‘Dehumanization is when one group treats another group as second-class citizens. Members of a persecuted group may be compared with animals, parasites, insects, or diseases. When a group of people is thought of as “less than human,” it is easier for the group in control to murder them. At this stage, hate propaganda in print and on hate radio is used to make the victims seem like villains.’

I agree with you whole post. I think, though, the group in control is usually the republicans and they simply do not accept that it’s actually possible be transgender. They see transgender people as homosexual and thus view them as Evil. And that is why the group in control is using emotionally-chaged language such as mutilation.
Thank goodness for our Governor, Laura Kelly. I’m sorry that she’s 74 years old and will probably retire from politics after her term is up in 2026. She might be able to be elected Senator if she ran, and we Kansans could certainly use a Democratic Senator.
During the debate on the bill, state senator Mary Ware had a rather poignant question for her colleagues in the senate:
“What is the acceptable number of youth suicides?” Ware asked.
Channeling my inner conservative bigot… ‘I see Mary did not understand what Michael Knowles said to CPAC “For the good of society … transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely — the whole preposterous ideology, at every level.” The acceptable number is all of them.’
When they tell you who they are and what they want . . . maybe folks should listen.
Donald Trump made sweeping promises at a far-right event this weekend to end trans rights in several areas, including education, health care, and military service.
Speaking at an event organized by Turning Point USA, Trump also promised to end transgender rights across the board on his first day in office, saying that it will be official policy that “there are only two genders, male and female.” He also said he would sign an executive order to “end child sexual mutilation.”
Hmm, be interesting if he tries to outlawed genital surgery on children in a way that makes it hard to do surgery on intersex babies. I don’t know if it’s still routine, but it certainly was for a while.
Be even more interesting if he tries to outlaw circumcision.
I bet whatever he proposes - or whatever legislation gets crapped out of Congress - will be so poorly worded that this will be one of the outcomes, intended or not.
Literally making it illegal to be trans. The next step after this will be the cattle trains to the camps. We’ve seen this movie already. (Night and Fog.)
At least they’re direct about it. The entire bill reads
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 32, Penal Code, is amended
by adding Section 32.515 to read as follows:
Sec. 32.515. GENDER IDENTITY FRAUD. (a) A person commits
an offense if the person knowingly makes a false or misleading
verbal or written statement to a governmental entity or the
person ’s employer by identifying the person ’s biological sex as the
opposite of the biological sex assigned to the person at birth.
(b) An offense under this section is a state jail felony.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
Doesn’t take a lawyer to see what this bill is doing. If I were arguing against it, I would say the proposed law unlawfully discriminates against people who were assigned a biological sex at birth by creating a felony that only applies to them, without compelling government rationale.
I am not a lawyer. Arguably someone identifying as non-binary would not be the identifying as “the opposite of the biological sex assigned” at birth. But identifying as one or the other binary gender on a given day could.
Yeah, I’m surprised that the rubberbrains who came up with this legal text didn’t use the phrasing “other than” rather than “the opposite of”, in order to enable them to oppress and disfranchise nonbinary people as readily as transgender people.
Considering the extent to which, “The woke left believes in 37 genders!” is a right wing meme, I’m surprised it didn’t occur to them to cast a much wider net.
So I can dress like a woman at work – maybe even use the women’s bathroom – as long as I marked the “M” checkbox on my job application when I was hired? How does this bill really “solve” anything? (I know, cruelty is the point!)
