Requiem for Ralph - A Spontaneous MMP

For the record, it’s very tricksy to eat corn flakes with a half-numb face. I’m drooling milk!

We cut all the shelves for my display, so except for pricing, I’m pretty close to ready for the craft show. We designed the setup ourselves and it is way cool! I’ve got something over 40 linear feet of space, 12" deep that sits in a 7’ x 2’ footprint. That leaves me space for my work table to do some coil-building demos. So yay!

Almost time to leave for class - can’t wait to see what my exploded tile montage looks like when it’s glazed. I hope tonight is a short night - I’m really tired… :o <---- me, yawning.

YAY, Rebo!!! Drinks on you!!!

And this is different from any other day how? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay for the raise Rebo! Does this mean we get presents?

BioRosie hang in there. This is tough but think how much better it’s gonna be to be bionic! Smokey is gonna be so glad to see you he will be stuck by you for at least a week. Or until dinner. One never knows with cats.

Bobbio I’m still lyin’ my butt off over there. I expect that the game will be closed in the next few days cause it’s gettin’ big.

My sinuses ache less now. Still hurt though. I’m thinkin’ around eight Ima Benadryl up again and get in the bed to watch My Name Is Earl. Bet I’m asleep before it’s half over.

I’m taking a break from gardening. Kinda browsed, but didn’t absorb lots, except for:

Happy Birthday, Sean! (Late, I know, I was way way way tired yesterday.)

And happy arrival, ems’s almost-nephew Josh!

Cheer up, rosie! You’ll be fine. You’ll get to post a lot more often. And you’ll get to hang out with Smokey. Will it be easier for your friends to visit you at home?

Back to the garden, and then I’ll stop by again. I’m going to the movies in a couple hours, too.

GT

Mom and Baby Josh are fine they will be home tomorrow

I asked Mom to kiss his little baby toesis from me

So closing is ON for the 25th of May and I have all the utilities arranged and the movers/unpackers scheduled

Also doing the inspection Saturday AM

I can’t wait - I really really want my own bed back

Pops a cork on a bottle of champagne, just to watch FCM drool! :stuck_out_tongue:

Plenty for everyone!

ETA: Congrats, Ems!

Yay on the house closing Ems! It’ll be all yours. Whenever anything goes wrong, it’ll be all yours.

Ok, I’m a good friend. Know how I know? Cause instead of takin’ Benadryl and goin’ to bed, I’m about to head over to a friend’s house to do some comforting and consoleing. Ok, I’m goin’ to listen to him bitch and moan but sometimes that’s what friends do for friends and he needs it right now.

Congrats Rebo and ems!!! Maggie has gas. Bad gas. Hefty bag full of dead skunks in August bad.

Thanks ever so much for the description. Ick.

Just got back from seeing The Lives of Others. Interesting movie. I’m still deciding what I think about it.

Yay on the raise, Rebo! Can I have a sip of champagne too? I won’t drool. (Is that good or bad?)

Guess I should consider going off to bed. I have lots to do tomorrow. But no work work! Yay!

This is my post that’s unrelated to anything but just things I’ve been thinking about.

Oh, but before I start that. . . rosie. . . a great big hug goes out to you. When you’re feeling blue, you can think of all of us thinking about you. I hope that helps, at least a little.

swampy, do you have a picture that you’ve posted of yourself? (I’ll understand if you don’t because I don’t) But I really can’t imagine what you look like despite reading all the stuff you say here. And please be dressed in the picture. :stuck_out_tongue:

Jahdra and Mamatigs, I’ve been looking at an old sweater that I knitted on a knitting frame. I love it. It was made from Lamb’s Pride Worsted which is 85% wool and 15% mohair. I like the stretchiness because the stitches look uniform even after pulling it from the frame and I like the sheen which is not glossy but still has a luster. But I think wool makes me sneeze, so I want to knit something similar but is there something that looks and knits similar but doesn’t have wool in it? Thanks for anything you can come up with.

If only I were actually sleepy! Who’s got my spare sleep? I’m sure I left it around here somewhere…::Looks around desperately::

gt, watch the pendant. . . you are sleeeeeeepy. You are sleeeeeeeepy. And no, I didn’t steal your sleep, but I hope you find it soon.

ETA: yeehaw!! and first on page 6!

Hello everyone!

First things first:

Rosie, I’m sorry you’re blue. I’m sending big hugs to you.

Sean, a happy belated birthday to you! We May babies are jake, aren’t we? My b-day is next weekend (the 19th), and I’ll be 29 with 14 years of experience. Bats eyelashes at Unca Swampy

Jah, the story about your dog brought tear to my eye. Animals are something, aren’t they?

I should be be sleepy; I think Lissla is stealing it from all of us.

Hoo-boy! Work has not been fun, but I’m plowing through it.

kai, you can still see Mt. Rainier from Seattle on a clear day, but it has to have rained the day before to clear all the damn smog. Fortunately, I can still see The Mountain in all her glory on clear days; but then again, I live closer to it. She is rotting from the inside, but is still a wonder to behold.

Bah! DO NOT get me going on the taxes thing again. We are taxed to death in this state; partly because we don’t pay a state income tax. On the other hand, they’ve tried getting the citizens to vote for state income tax (a few times), but the legislature was not willing to give up other taxes in return for it. Uh… I don’ theeenk so Meester!

Swampy, I’m glad you were able to get your liner fixed. How on earth would you have been able to have your yearly pool tube/snake party if it had been broken?

The spider pictures don’t bother me all that much. They don’t bother me that much. I’ve actually held a tarantula in my hands. They are incredibly soft. I happened to read on the news today that the brown widow spider is making its way north now. It’s venom is supposed to be worse than the black widow. The good news is that when it bites, it doesn’t release as much venom at a time as a black widow.

FCM, good luck with the craft show! I hope you sell lots and that the weather cooperates too.

Hmmm, I guess that’s all I’ve got for now. I’m a little fuzzy-headed today.

My mother would join the pole-dancing workshop  She claims that one advantage of being old is that every day you give less of a hoot what people think.

I went skydiving once, got my certificate and a lot of pics. The place where I dove is considered the best diving place in Western Europe; after saying this, my Russian friend stopped for a moment and said “actually, we probably say it that way because we’re used to always saying WesternEurope like it was a different planet. I’ll let you know when we’ve done the jump…” but after jumping he was so busy bouncing that he didn’t remember to compare it with the best place in Eastern Europe. It’s in Ampuriabrava, on the Costa Brava: I’ve been in that area many times, either on vacation or day trips, so it was actually me who was pointing out places to the Argentinian instructor (your first dive is always a tandem, you’re “worn” by an instructor in a sort of frontpack). I learned how to tell whether a movie close-up of someone diving is real: if their cheeks look normal, it’s not! Mine were trying to move behind my ears!

{{{{BioRosie}}}} and, because the Bio reminded me, {{{{welby}}}} and {{{{VWife}}}} Or should that be VFrau? Now that I’ve moved to France I’m remembering my German, someone kick me! In the brain!

Just watched The Big Lebowski at a friend’s house. Our American friends kept telling us it was a work of art, but Scottish Darling and I were unimpressed.

Night, all! :: blows kisses ::

Oh, I forgot something terribly, terribly, terribly… mundane and pointless. I’m internetified at home, woohoo!

The wifi has decided not to get set up, but well, that just means I have to unplug the cable every night when I switch off the computer; otherwise and because houses back in the 1930s weren’t designed with all these electronics in mind (can’t imagine why) I might trip over it when I go to the bathroom before being very awake.

The TV decoder should be in the mailbox by the time I get back from Spain, w00t!

Well I’ve finally left Japan and arrived in the US.

And…seeing as I was on the deck for starting an MMP, I guess I’ll wait till Monday to say much more than, “Yaaaaayyyyy!!”

I have the beginnings of The Sick. Yesterday I had a sore throat, today I have a worse sore throat and a snuffly nose and I’m all hot. Not good…because I’m at work so it’s all set for a less than impressive day. Bah!

Hi Well-Educated Large Rodent, welcome back to the MMP! Saw you’d posted in other threads too

BooFae, are you going to give everybody at work The Sick?

Nava, last year I took days off sick as recommended by the doctor (I got a sick note for one week for a chest infection, and after a minor accident I was advised to take three days off to rest because I’d potentially broken a bone in my foot but they couldn’t tell from the x-ray) and a few other days for colds/flu because I didn’t think it was a good idea to use public transport and infect lots of other people, and also infect the rest of the office.

So at my annual review, my boss made a big thing about the number of sick days I’d taken…and this year I’ve decided not to take any at all. They can’t argue about that, can they?!

Good morning all! I am up and caffeinating. It’s truck day today, then time to mop the floor.

BooFae, get better soon! Remember to rest and take plenty of fluids(I am partial to Screwdrivers and G&Ts for Teh Sick).

Nava Yah Internet!

gt, you’re welcome. Just doing my part for the TMI quota for this week’s MMP.
