Party went well, there was Simon and Garfunkel, Nuclear War, PBR & Meatballs & Fudge. A good time was had by all!
Yesterday was spent cleaning the bedroom & by some miracle we got it finished! (Seriously, I wish I had before & after photos. I can’t believe we got it all done in one day.)

Got the after-work errands done, and there was a nice surprise at the little store - a check for just shy of $300! Lots and lots of mitts sold, plus a few bits of pottery.
I braved the outside world today and came to work. And immediatly regretted it. I probably should have worked from home as I was a bit shaky after getting up/ showered/dressed/drove to work/climbed 3 flights of stairs. But I stayed and caught up on end of year paperwork and system updates. Pretty mindless stuff.
I hadn’t eaten anything since a piece of toast at 4PM yesterday made my stomach hurt and I went to bed at 8PM and I have no appetite. Someone walked past my office at lunch with McDonalds and the smell was…well less than pleasant and I had to sit with my trash can on my lap for a few minutes and take a few deep breathes. But no puking. Yay! I got hungry about 20 mins ago so I had some banana which has not made my stomach complain so I think I am on the mend.
mr ems thinks I am pregnant after I told him about my trash can incident today. I don’t believe so.
Thanks - it almost pays for all the yarn that was just delivered today! And speaking of yarn, there’s an afghan that won’t get any bigger if I don’t get to knittin’…
Have to share:
background: CoWorker J made her family a homemade chicken pot pie for New Years dinner - but as she took it out of the oven, the cookie sheet slipped and she now has a couple of large blisters on her right thumb and palm. She got ointment for it but
funny: Cow Orker K made up a joke:
“What do J and Hot Lips Houlihan have in common? They both have MajorBurns on their hands!” LOL
The 75’ python is expensive, but it is G-d’s gift to aquarists.
One can buy it cheaper with a short hose and more hose at the hardware store. You could probably make one out of garden hose and garden hose shut off valves.
't would be a nice idea, but I live in a cruddy flat which does not have any outside tap (and I ain’t a he btw).
Still, garden roses do smell nice, so would help make the whole thing less stressful.
I gave up for the day at 1/3 full, no point in rushing, as I don’t have the filter or water conditioner yet. At least decorating tanks is fun once the water’s in!
flytrap, nuts is of the female persuasion. Also, are you proposin’ she fashion a garden hose out of a garden rose? How many garden roses would that take you reckon?
OYKW says thanks for the bday wishes. I’m a little achy, sneezey/coughy, runny nosey. Hope I am not comin’ down with sump’n and on top of that managed to give it to him. I’m just startin’ to feel this in the past ten minutes. I think I shall take some knockout night time cold stuff and go beddy bye.
I am sure that the more intelligent MMPers would consider how close “R” and “H” are on the keyboard and would recognize my typo, so you surely shou…never mind.
:dubious:
First real food in 3 days of scrambled eggs on a whole wheat English muffin. I am so full I could pop but it feels good to eat again. I have also finally got rid of the headache from hell and feel about 90% human again.
