Resolved: Happy New MMP 2013!

I foraged some leftovers. I’m thinking it’s about time to knit.

I find the lack of chocolate in this house disturbing… :frowning:

MMMMM

Lunch with my Mom was great. We just sat and talked for about three hours. She is planning on moving down here so I drove her around a neighborhood I though she would like, bingo she loved it. Great day. The nephews are well and starting to look like normal babies, both are growing like weeds. I need to post pics will try this weekend.

That’s all I have for now

Cheers all

Jim

Out f–king standing!

Er, what were you going to do with sesame oil and bananas?

My girlfriend has suggested Very Strongly that I look into “oil pulling,” whatever the hell that is, as a way to avoid long-term painful and expensive dental care, the theory as I understand it (prior to looking into it) being that swishing a teaspoon of sesame oil around in your mouth for ten or fifteen minutes a day will remove the plaque below the gum line that dentists like to remove by use of the aforementioned painful and expensive.

The bananas were to have with lunch & dinner for the next couple days, before I have to go and do a real grocery run.

I use hydrogen peroxide.
Thank goodness they weren’t going in the same recipe…

my husband took $1000 out of his IRA, and I hate that he had to do that since he only had $3000 to begin with. So we will be ok for a little while. Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

So, you’ve never had fried bananas… something to look forward to, then!

Saw a food show Saturday about the 10 best gourmet burgers in the US. The key to every one was get the best meat available. So for dinner I got a bunch of 85/15 ground round prime, fresh baked onion rolls, boars head cheese, fresh pesto, a plate of condiments and made the family a fantastic cheeseburger meal. Broiling butter on the onion rolls was a good call. Apple pie and BlueBell vanilla for dessert. Oh man, a fella could get spoiled pretty quick. During bowl games anything goes.

That’s what I was thinking with those two ingredients (however, I much preferred grilled bananas - awesome dessert!)

How about bananas brulé? slice 'em lengthwise, sprinkle liberally with granulated sugar, the “brulé” the sugar with a kitchen blow torch. Alton Brown made 'em once - I drooled for 10 minutes

Heretic!

Hey, it was absolutely delicious but I’m new at this. What would you recommend? Mind you, it’s gotta go with Chimay.

fresh ground chuck. You go to the butcher counter and ask for the ground chuck. Yummers.

That would be a good hamburger.

But encourage the grinding of prime rib?
Sacrilege!

Yep, went to the counter at the best market, told him what I was doing, that I wanted 15-20% fat and what did he recommend. Ground round prime was it. I’m telling ya, it was incredibly flavorful and juicy. So would your recommendation change if you were going to include a little creamy horseradish on the burger?

So sleepy. Why am I still awake?

Because there might be something new!

yeah, like this

or this :smack:

Irked, came home, chatted with Hockey Lady:).

FCM, I can’t make it either.:frowning:

There are not enough coasters, anyway. :frowning:
