Well last night was a bust. I did not make it to the grocery store nor did we get pizza seeing as I have come down with the nasty Norovirus. Yesterday afternoon onwards was awful…between the puking the nausea the stomach cramps the running/slow shuffle to the bathroom the fever and the inability to keep warm it was not a fun night.
I can barely move today and everything hurts but I can at least keep water down.
I had a furry, four-legged alarm clock lick me out of the sweet embrace of my buddy melatonin. At 10 AM. Boxers do not fathom the concept of ‘sleeping in’.
Didn’t get back til 3am this morning- didn’t get to bed til nearly 5- however, I spent the time between 3 and 5 reading seed catalogues and gardening books, so I don’t think it quite counts as a big night.
Games night was fun, food was consumed, no-one really got drunk but the drinks, games got played, and friends’ toddler stayed happily asleep upstairs despite it not being his house.
Spent today doing gardening stuff, after getting up at mumble o’clock… I appear to have a pet garden rat.
Anyway-
Happy new year! (colour chosen to be restful for those who overindulged somewhat).
Hope 2013 is a much better year than the last one was, for mumpers, family, friends, and anyone else who wants it!
A very Happy New Year to all! I was actually up at midnight - boy a lot of folks around here shoot off guns at midnight on NYE, and they shoot off fireworks as well. Ouchie! I was going to have my usual NYE Mimosa but didn’t get any champagne so ended up sipping some Harvey’s Bristol Creme. I really like that stuff, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. LOL
I don’t know if I mentioned it or not, but my cable co. recently picked up ME TV (Memorable Entertainment Television Network), which shows many older tv shows - it’s a competitor to Antenna TV and Retro TV, if you’re familiar with those networks. I’ve been watching shows on their, reminiscing; shows like Combat! and My Three Sons and Car 54, Where are you (my gosh that show was stupid! LOL but I remember loving it!!). I also really enjoy watching the movies on TCM. The hosts on there are so knowledgable too (Robert Osbourne esp.), I love being able to do this now.
At any rate, I had my hoppin’ john just after midnight (it was good!) and now I’ve got a corned beef brisket in the oven (it was too big for my slow cooker!)–and that smells sooo good. I hope everyone enjoys their holiday today and my wishes for a safe and prosperous 2013 for all. Healing thoughts sent to any and all who need them, esp. Mmmm, good thoughts for Spaz’sDad and for any who over-indulged last night EmilyG… I think that would include you.
So did I. Still have it. I’m afraid of taking pills for it, though, because I don’t know if I’ll throw up yet again. Actually, I probably won’t. I’m feeling a little better now.
