One very important piece of bidness has been accomplished today, the menu for Easter lunch. Hey, one has to have priorities! Ham, scalloped N.O.T., asparagus with hollandaise sauce, field peas with snaps, pineapple casserole (goes good with ham), and for dessert, pound cake with strawberries and real whipped cream. Oh and rolls. The ham, rolls, and pineapple casserole are mine to take care of and the rest is courtesy of others. There shall also be munchies, Bloody Marys and wine also provided by others. We shall feast!
I don’t know what we’re having for Easter - my mom is doing all the food, except for the deviled eggs I’m taking. I expect this year, like years past, she’ll have big chocolate bunnies for all of us. beyond that, it’ll be a surprise.
I finally seem to be emerging from my fog. Just to clarify, I was saying that things could be worse such as when I got chicken pox on Spring Break as a 19 year old. Currently I only have a cold and pinkeye. :dubious:
Tomorrow I’m going to see a guy about some silverware and then a doctor’s appointment in the afternoon. Hopefully somewhere in the middle RT will get home. And if we’re really lucky, it won’t rain so we can go to some art events this weekend.
We are having ham, potato salad, macaroni salad and probably rolls and baked beans for Easter.
I think we are going to go Sunday evening, then we can visit with my mother after she gets home and we won’t have to deal with the rest of the family.
I don’t know who is going to be there for brunch but I assume the HFH will be there.
I don’t know if my ex-bil will be there, I wouldn’t mind seeing him.
I didn’t buy beer last night at the bowling alley. Tonight, I’ll finish up a project in the studio. Tomorrow night, SIL wants to get out of the house, so who knows what kind of trouble we’ll get into.
Easter Sunday, I’ll be at a potluck with the heathens. I don’t know what everyone else is bringing, but I’m taking a mandarin spinach salad with lemon vinigraitte dressing, a dozen deviled aigs, 36 filled plastic aigs for the hunt and my tambourine. It should be fun.

Back from the Dr and erranding. **FCD **will have a minor outpatient surgery as soon as it can be scheduled. While it heals, he’s supposed to avoid kneeling, which means he might be restricted from doing some projects in his shop, but the Dr said as long as he rests when it starts hurting, he shouldn’t have any other restrictions. The trick will be keeping him from over-doing things. But thankfully, we’re not looking at knee replacement right now. So yay.

I think your husband I may have been separated at birth. A litany of spine problems and now, I’m off for an MRI on Sunday to hopefully confirm the exact nature of what looks like a joint mouse or hellacious bone spur under my patella.
It’s just like green bean casserole, but with pineapple instead. No, really. Would I lie???<halo> The cream of mushroom soup gives it that special something…
**gotti **- spousal unit has a torn meniscus and apparently, all the doc needs to do right now is trim away the torn parts and the rest should do just fine. Sounds weird to me, but he’s the knee expert and I’m just glad it’s not a replacement just yet. He said maybe in 10 years or so.
I’ve finished today’s yard work - I pounded in a dozen plant food spikes, raked then mulched around the azaleas at the end of the drive, worked some peat moss into the clay around the roses, then mulched that bed. I’ve got the sprinkler going at the moment to soak down deeply. Meanwhile, I just finished a turkey and swiss sammich. Not sure what we’ll have for supper - I suspect it’ll be grab whatever.
My back is achy. I wasn’t digging anything heavy, but I guess my posture wasn’t right. Getting old sucks!!
 I am verklempt! Flummoxed even! I forgot to say deviled aigs are on the menu as well. I have fresh free range aigs even. Ok, aigs from free range chikins. The aigs don’t wander around although wanderin’ chikins lay the aigs so I suppose one could say the aigs wander. I’ll even use my purty crystal aig tray.
red the pineapple aka Little Ol’ Lady casserole is in the Mumper recipe blog. If’n you don’t have a link to it mayhaps someone can provide you with it or I will once I’m at da cave. I don’t have a link here at irk.
MOOOOOOM you know better than that! The pineapple casserole recipe calls for cream of celery and saltines instead of crunchy onion thingys.
Howdy from da cave! My irk week is over! YAY! I see MOOOOOOM has provided a link to the blog. If she has not already run away in fear, red can now see the recipe for Pineapple, AKA Little Ol’ Lady, Casserole.
Shortly I shall begin dindin as we shall eat early. Poke chops, N.O.T. from a box (don’t judge!), succotash, and some brown 'n serve rolls. Easy and tasty the way I like dindin and my men.
