When I get home I’ll try pokerroom.com
From the sounds of it, I’ll have better luck there than the other one. I’ll let you know how it goes.
As far as the blinds go, it doesn’t matter because I’m gonna take all your faux-Cecil-Bux anyhow

As far as I know, all the onliine poker rooms up the blinds based on how many hands have been played, but if you guys wanna do it by time that’s fine by me.
What do you guys think of the blinds schedule on this page? I think the denominations are a definite (especially since we have the option at Pokerroom at starting with 10/20), but according to the web-site, with blinds going up every 20 minutes a tournament averages four hours. A little much, no? You guys sure you want to go by time instead of hands played? If yes, we should probably go with every 15 minutes instead of 20.
I’ll try to get in this Thursday night, x-ray…it depends on family dinner wrapping up in time…7 pm PST. We’ll see.
I assume that it’s so they can use the same basic programming for both real and play money games, as well as getting new players unfamiliar with the rake concept used to the idea.
As far as blinds go, PR tables seat 10, and their STTs raise the blinds every 10 hands. If our table is full then everyone gets each blind and the button once. If it’s not full, oh well, that’s poker. Either method is fine with me, by time or by number of hands. A STT on PR with blinds going up every 10 hands typically lasts about an hour.
The only thing we won’t be able to do is the second blind schedule of 15/30. We’ll have to jump right to 20/40. Since the default blinds schedule is 10/20, once we want to raise it to 15/30 the software won’t let us. Once everyone checks after the big blind, the small blind won’t be able to raise to 15, he’ll be forced to see the big blind’s 20. So the small blind will bet ten, so he has a total bet of 20 and the big blind will bet 20, so he has a total bet of 40.
I know this is getting confusing but I think we’ll all catch on pretty quickly once we get things moving.
Since we’ve made so many changes so far, I’m going to repost all the new deatails in a new thread and ask a mod to delete this one.
Well, pokerroom.com certainly seems better!
Dammit. I signed up, but I can not get the activation code emailed to me, even after I added support@pokerroom.com to the contact list. It’s been close to an hour…What gives?
I registered a few months ago, and I think there was a limit on the number of characters, so my username there is hitekburrito.
Yeticus, check your spam folder. I have gmail and it thought the registration code was spam from pokerroom. Took me a good 15 minutes to figure it out.
Oh, and my name, thanks to length restrictions, is only MostlyDead.
Okay. My account’s set up (and the registration was in spam folder as well) and ready to go whenever. Are you still going to send emails, x-ray? I might forget otherwise.
Guys, ignore this thread from now on and read the new one. I mentioned a problem we’re going to run into that I didn’t foresee and a possible solution. It makes things more complicated but I think we’ll catch on quickly once things start rolling.
The reason I was going to e-mail everyone in the first scenario was to tell everyone what table to sit at. Now you know the name in advance, so I won’t be sending out e-mails beforehand. Don’t forget Aesiron.
