Return of the King collector's set?

Just got back from Broder’s, and they’ve got a new leatherbound version of the books that comes with book ends: one is Gandalf knocking on the door to Bag End, and the other is either Bilbo or Frodo about to open it.

Lots of sets for sale on eBay, running about $30. Or were you talking about The Supremes?

 Thanks, I’ll check it out. (The Argonaths, not the girls.)

Bumped due to this announcement from DVDAnswers.com. December 14th willl see the release of the EE for $40, along with an ultra-super-deluxe edition for $80. Looks like the Minas Tirith statue doubles as a DVD case, kinda cleaver that.

No official public confirmation from New Line on this, but that site has been reliable from my experience.

I’m not sure if I’ll spring for the $80 package now, or wait for the inevitable triology boxed set mega-version. Then of course there will be the next-generation HD DVD editions in the near future…

Now I have this LOTR parody running through my mind:

Then saw the Company of the Ringbearer two colossal figures, as of giant black Amazons, one at either shore of the river. And they marveled at the sight.

And Boromir spoke, and said, “Ye behold the Dianaros, the figures which ancient kings of Gondor sate there, that they might halt any who attempt to enter our land unless they bear the love of good and the goodwill of Gondor in their hearts.”

And Aragorn, recalling Arwen Evenstar, softly chanted the Elven-lay of the Dianaros, which being translated, It is destined that at some future day we shall be together.

www.thedigitalbits.com (a reliable site) initially said Dec 14 as well. It based this on a 2 page ad in Video Store magazine. However that had has been retracted. cite: http://www.videostoremag.com/news/html/breaking_article.cfm?sec_id=2&article_ID=6590

But it pretty much has to be the 7th or the 14th. The 21st is too close to Christmas.
