I assume Ogre that was posted before you saw my most recent post?
Rage and amusement at the same time? Sorry, I’ve personally not experienced the same thing.
I just find it amazing that some folks still cling to the ‘he was so maligned/treated so badly’ tact, since in the first place he specifically states he was amused at the insults and found them entertaining (which is what I’ve suggested, that he finds that sort of interchange fun), and that it includes ‘rage’ (where I can find no support) and that a significant number were outrightly complimentary and welcoming.
in other words, pretty much what you’d expect (as he did). Some people will like you, some people won’t. focusing only on those who didn’t will indeed skew your perception of the event. Wish people would stop doing that.
Honestly Jeff, do you think by repeating that line, over and over again, to the point of ad naseum, that it’s going to eventually stick?
To my eyes, re-reading his posts a couple of times over now (And damn, he nailed you guys pretty well; kudos Rev!), that going over this topic non-stop is going to make you right, eventually?
Seriously, you’ve been at it since the start, arguing you weren’t appreciated for your fine contributions. Well whoopdee-fuckin’-doo. It happens here all the time; a person chimes in with somewhat valid information and isn’t thanked or responded to.
Is that really what this is all about to you? The lack of a bow to your feet, the unabashed admiration from the Rev for your fine detective work?
Good lord man, he said it once, maybe not as clearly as you desire, but he said it once.
Let it got my man. Jesus, the people saying ‘let things go, relax’ can’t understand, or take for a minute, what they preach.
You’ve not only rapped up the sad part, you’re headed for patheticvill non-stop and express.
Wait, wait, one can be amused and angry at the same time? And the amusement leavens the rage, you say? Is their a forum, perhaps, somewhere near here, where the participant’s rants are judged on their anger, humour, and style?
I don’t see how there is any definate right or wrong here. RedFury (dunno why I though that was RexDart:() came in with what I saw as a misrepresentation of me and I responded, simple as that.
The consensus of the Mods was that Rev. be banned for trolling even though there was no official warning. Posters have been banned without being warned before and probably will again but until DavidB’s debacle there hasn’t been much of a fuss. Now we have handful of posters who appear to be rabidly second-guessing the Mods and I fail to see the purpose. Do you want them to just throw open the floodgates and allow all-comers or what? Should the Mods always wait until there is a clear violation of the rules? Do the needs of the few - or one - now outweigh the needs of the many? If that’s where we’re heading I believe people will be leaving in droves and I’ll be one of 'em.
Sorry, my questions above were a bit abrupt but I couldn’t think of a better way to phrase them. I’m all for diversity and differences of opinion, otherwise this board would be as dead as the south pole.
Are we done here yet? 'Cause I wanna go find another newbie to pile on. Hey, there’s a whole bunch of single-post flamebait over in Scylla’s blimp thread…
Yeah, imagine my surprise at doing a vanity search to find my name in the 7th page of a thread I’d abandoned 4 days ago. I see you corrected the mistake, so all good.
