Rick and Morty -- the new animated show from Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland

SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!

c

Let me out! Let me out!
This is not a dance!
I’m begging for help!
I’m screaming for help!
Please come let me out!
I’m dying in a vat in the garaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!

Spaghetti? Kangaroos? I’ve gotta check this place out.

Oh, my god, Oh, my god! crying What about your short game?

All of Rick’s moves are dick moves!

We loved the show, but for my money the best joke was after Morty has got his sex robot and he’s hitting it like it owes him money, and the scene is the family downstairs hearing the noise and feeling the ceiling shake. They say a few uncomfortable things… and you figure that’s the joke, ha ha, Morty’s humping the sex doll.

Then suddenly you hear him running, and Morty dashes up to the table, sweating. He grabs the orange juice, drinks half of it, says “Uh… back upstairs!” and runs away.

I don’t know why but we were just crying with laughter.

Whatever you do, don’t name it!

So when IS Ricksgiving, exactly?

…|…Peace among worlds, Rick. Peace among worlds…|…

See post 276.

Specifically, it’s the day on which Rick gave the people of the microverse his Gooble-Box technology.

No, when is it in OUR universe? Is it before or after Spider Peace Day?

Spider Peace Day isn’t in our universe, either… but they were already celebrating Ricksgiving in that microverse before RAM returned to be disgusted by the great-ice-cream-ruined-by-flies that was a result of Spider Peace Day.

Tiny Rick!

Pretty specific pitch, Summer. I probably could turn myself into a teenager and hang out in the zit-covered, hormone-addled, low-stakes assworld that is high school, but here’s my reverse ask: why in the f___ would I ever do that, ever, and how dare you even ask me that, and why aren’t you more ashamed of yourself?

Yeah, it’s got an almost improvisational tone.

Wasn’t the phrase zit-covered, hormone addled, high-pressure, low-stakes assworld that is high school"? Somehow I thought he included “high-pressure” among those other adjectives that accurately describe grades 9 to 12 (and, from my experience, 7 and 8).

I wrote it down at the time - pretty sure “high-pressure” wasn’t part of it.

But hey, somebody posted the opening scene of R&M S3’s first episode!: - YouTube

Now that’s just nasty.

Anyway - as far as cartoon series go, I’m really enjoying Star vs. The Forces of Evil. It is often described as ‘like Rick and Morty, only for kids’, and there are certainly some similarities - though again, very different in tone (naturally). It’s a lot of fun, and fills the R&M apparently endless hiatus hole.
