That was the best damn April Fool ever. People weren’t bothering to click on the links because they were sure that it was a prank.
And here I’m just flipping through the channels and decide, on a whim, to watch the new Samurai Jack. And why is there a R&M rerun? And why haven’t I seen this episode before?
Not sure what was going on at the end of the episode. I get that it was a callback to an earlier episode, but I think Rick’s brain might have indeed gotten a bit liquified.
If you’re talking about Rick screaming in Morty’s face about the McNugget sauce, it’s a callback to the end of the pilot episode. Rick yells at Morty in a similar fashion while he’s convulsing because of the mega seeds.
Same here, except that I saw instantly that it was the new season. But I missed the pre-credit sequence.
Season three will premiere July 30th.
Posted this in the Sneak Peak streaming thread but then saw this one.
Lookin’ good! A giant Summer… hmm, that has potential…
And here’s the trailer. Pickle Riiiiick!
Oops, the previously linked article already had the trailer.
Heh. Just noticed on the computer screens:
Sending Explosion
Receiving Explosion
BOOM!
FYI If you are itching for new Rick and Morty and don’t want to wait for the end of the month , I have been reading the Rick & Morty comic (the first two Trade paperback volumes) and it is well done. The same sensibility as the show but new adventures. Not every story is a home run but it is good (so far) and worth checking out if you are a fan of the show.
I got the sample free comic issue from few months ago, loved it. I’m still loving the preview where the song intro goes “Bonkers” to introduce the new scenes.
The Rickmobile is passing though several cities, and I’ve seen some bought toys go on Ebay for triple the price. The best souveneir was the Rick and Morty car windshield screen.
Looks like Rick will get his sauce.
Also the new season starts tonight!
“If you think my Rick’s dead, he’s alive and if you think you’re safe, he’s coming for you!”
Well, tonight’s episode was dark. I guess it works as a comedic look at how divorce changes family structures and all, but damn. Summer’s turn was especially shocking, how easily she adjusted to being a brutal killer while Morty still feels guilt for the murders he’s committed.
Favorite moments:
- The Morty-bot becoming self-aware
- “Shoot the Mohawk guy!” “They ALL have Mohawks!”
- The scene in post-apocalyptic Seattle, with the Pike Place sign and the Ferris wheel
- The whole scene with Summer and Jerry where they bond over their mutual nihilism
- The feral dog that is nourished by Jerry’s despair, and the whisper in the wind crying “LOSER”
- The Strunk & White reference, complete with wink-and-nod to the audience
Things have taken a squanch for the schwifty now that Rick and Morty are back.
I think I missed that one - was that the “You mean ‘dictionary’?” line, and if so, what exactly was it referencing?
Before sending Morty to create his distraction, Rick asks the assorted killers etc. about the “Thunderdome”, to which one responds, “You mean the Blood Dome?” Rick answers, “Save it for the Semantics Dome, E.B. White.”
I rewound to enjoy that a few more times.
I was sure that Hemorrhage (the guy with the bucket on his head) was going to turn out to be a version of Jerry…
Not one of their better ones, and STILL great fun.
How I missed this show, even with the reverse-April Fools Day episode we got.
Agreed Ep2 wasn’t one of their better ones, but I’m really looking forward to their “dark” season. Oh the horrors and great sci-fi to come. I can feel it in my plumbus.
