I’m feeling even worse about myself after watching again and seeing that Rick is once again proving that the vat of acid wasn’t a bad idea after all, Morty.
Heh. So we’re Morty and next season will be serialized and we’re along for the ride cause we asked for it.
I assume.
I love this show.
You would’ve thought lightsabers would have a safety that would turn off the blade if you dropped it.
You have to assume that everything that Rick does is intentional.
Ordinarily I find meta humour kind of lazy, but this episode was so silly that I rather enjoyed it.
Overall I liked this season more than the previous one, although I thought the dinosaur episode was kind of a dud.
I basically agree.
I don’t see how anyone could say the creators have lost their way*; they do know what they have and how to move it forward. I’m really looking forward to the next season!
* not that anyone here IS saying that; it’s just an easily-found-on-the-Internet position taken about many shows that have the intense and specialized appeal of R&M.
They probably do. You don’t see lightsabers rolling around on the ground in the “on” position in SW media. (On while throwing them, yes.) Also, the blade is narrower than the hilt.
Weird that nobody made the Night Family → Severance connection, unless no one has seen Severance in which case you all should drop what you are doing and watch it.
Yeah i was thinking the hilt would catch on something. At best stuff would start gumming up under the hilt and the whole thing would sink, at best, verrrry slowly once it reaches dirt and rock
I’m only up to this episode now(I waited for the season to air) and my IMMEDIATE first thought was, “Oh, Severance.”
Also, at a certain depth into the Earth, the heat and pressure is just going to melt the hilt of the lightsaber.
To all the lightsaber talkers-- you do realize that this is a cartoon and also lightsabers aren’t a real thing, right? Just checking.
Yes, everyone in this thread is aware that lightsabers are made up.
Was this something you genuinely were unclear on?
Nope. Thanks for putting me at ease.
I’m halfway through the season and this is my favorite season since the first three seasons. Season 4 and 5 were a step down for me, with just a few highlights.
I could have used more 'realistic video games", though. I like Street Fighter, but you have to live the entire day first and your anger-meter depletes and you might not even want to fight when you get to the other guy.
Dang, I never even got to say
-
All that pressure is going to just stop the lightsaber at some point even if the hilt were made of adamantium.
 -
Even by their own ‘apparent rules’…when that caldera that somehow exists down there was pierced is when the world should have ended. otherwise it looked like the saber was just gonna fall into a pool of lava.
 -
Pretty sure a small hole into the center of the earth wouldnt do anything.

IIRC, they were worried about the kyber crystal exploding when it reached the core.
Emily Litella: “oh. Never mind.”
Well doing the occasional nice thing for the two or three people he gives a shit about doesn’t make him nice, Rick is pure evil 99% of the time.
