Christians and non-Christians alike take verses out of context all the freakin’ time, particularly when they reference a single verse. I see no reason to assume these people are doing otherwise.
The problem I do see is, barring Obama doing something incredibly stupid and illegal, thus getting himself impeached, the only other way to shorten his term of office would be if he died. And since most fundies don’t believe God can affect free will, the latter becomes the only interpretation. The verse implies they are wishing for the President’s death.
Or, more likely, are too stupid to figure out the implications. I mean, we’ve already established that they’re stupid, right?

I work with survey data all the time.
I deal with clients/people that have issues with 95%/96%/97% etc…thinking shouldn’t it be 100%?? My response is that about 5% of the population is mentally unstable enough that it affects their lives (no cite cuz I made it up 
)…and these people are in your survey.
