Road Trip! - An Automotive MMP

Went to FL for vacation last month, drive was 15+ hours. The trip down was from about 5PM to 8AM. I drove all but an hour or so. I was getting a little dopey by dawn but was surprisingly awake. I slept until about 2pm and was fine.

The trip back, not so good. It was my girlfriend, her teenage daughter, her teenage friend, and me. Left about 8am on a Saturday. First 4 hours made good time. Then every hour or two, someone needed to go to the bathroom, someone was carsick, someone had to have a drink, the car needed gas, or someone “just couldn’t stay in the car any more.” About 9pm we were driving through pouring rain and it was dark, and we needed to do yet another stop. And of course it was one of those stops off the Interstate that winds up being 5 miles away. I pondered to the other occupant of the car as we waited on the other two in a convenience store parking lot “I think we died in an accident about 4 hours ago and now we are in Limbo on an eternal journey.” It sure seemed like it.

So I like road trips, but anything over 10 hours or so in a day is a bit much.

And all the girlies say he’s pretty fly for a white guy.

I personally find *pendejo *sets a more romantic mood.

I was almost passing out at irk today. Thanks sudden onset anemia! I’d get some iron supplements to deal with it but I don’t trust myself to drive the mile to the store.

I’m sure the bear will approve that I went to Target at lunchtime and stocked up on TP as I was down to 54 rolls* on the freezer in the garage. Bought another 72 rolls* and got a $5 gift card.

I half expected any manner of snarky comments from people on the shiny dangly thing under my nose. So far, not a peep. Even my chiropractor was like “I thought something was different about you…”

Of course, not a soul in my family knows anything about this yet. My mother doesn’t even have pierced ears.

  • Roll equivalents as I buy the Mega variety as I hate changing empty rolls.

Yeah Easier if it’s just one person ,I only had to make 4 stops.
And welcome, control-z, we can call you reverse

I SOLD THE CAMPER!!! YAAAAAAAAY!!

A woman responded to the ad late last night asking if she could come see it this morning. I told her it had to be after 4. She got her a bit after 5, and by 6, we’d set it up, packed it up, hooked it to her car, and exchanged money and title.

YAAAAAAAAY!!

Now I need to run to the store. ugh.

But YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Dindin has been ingested. YUM! That’s one gooooooooooooooood brisket I made there! The remnants of it shall be turned into my version of cheesesteaks for tomorrow night’s dindin.

gotti I am indeed proud. Oh and you got sump’n hangin’ out of your nose. Maybe you should by that kind of tissue as well.

BigKitty I thought that video was a riot!

MOOOOOOM yay for the camper sell!

Back from my grocery run. Time to veg.

We’ve decided that most of what we got for the trailer will go to VISA, but we’re each gonna take some to have fun with. What’s especially cool is that we sold it for more than we paid for it 3 years ago. Of course, by the time we paid for the inspection, the title, and the tow hitch… I think we probably came close to breaking even. The truth is, we got it super cheap when we bought it - I think the guy just wanted to be rid of it.

So we’ve got plenty of space in the garage for pellets. I just need to sweep up the debris that blew under it. Not tonight, tho. I’m done. DONE!

Got home, hung the bike away in the basement. Stopped by the basement fridge for some cold PowerAde; drank some on the way upstairs. Went to kitchen fridge & traded it in for a cold beer. Went upstairs, took off clothes & threw them in the washer, then got in shower & turned on water. Do you know how cold it is when you first turn it on? Do you know how good it felt? Best part was…shower beer!

Oh yeah, there was soap this time & the last sip became Body on Tap shampoo. Remember that?
I’ve dried off 3 times & I’m still wet. Stoopit hoomidity.

Now dinner & a movie.
Congrats on being camperless, Mooommm

One of my absolute requirements was that the jewelry would have some “heft” to it as I’m not a small guy and I don’t do dainty so there’s none of that “You got something on your nose…oh, that’s a piercing…”

What I got is probably two sizes larger than this one in both gage and diameter. Maybe in a few years I can do this…He’s sexy on a stick. Oh, was that my outside keyboard again?

And you’d have no idea how hard it is to find pictures of piercings that aren’t NSFW and/or horribly freaky. It would have been far faster for me to take a selfie and find a place to park it online.

You had to expect this

gotti, the dainty pic is about what I had

Do you seriously believe that I will view a link from one of the fellows that I want to sell a Vacation Guide to?
Oye!

So glad I took a shower to then go & put bug spray on right after dinner. Movies about space should be shown on non-cloudy nights; so much cooler to look up & see what subject matter.

But where are you going on vacation? I have some nice waterfront property in FL I’ll sell you…cheap.
gotti, go for the big one, then you’ll never loose your keys again.

Mr. Ruble, recommendation on Amish Outlaws; worth seeing?

I did. From the southeast to the pacific NW. I’d like to recommend Glacier National Park.

We could write a Speaking in Silver for travelers. I’m sure we can convince kobal2 to assist with the French chapters.

Oh, and the pronunciation guides? Forget about doing something like have a chapter explaining pronunciation symbols used, along the lines of “a is like in cat”. We’d come up with a list of letter groups for each sound we’d need, and mix-and-match randomly.

My daughter and a good friend of hers did this between their sophomore and junior years of college - from Orlando to Seattle. They went roughly across I-10, then north thru CA, and returned via Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore and some other places. They had a blast! Just a few months ago, they were posting on FB “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already!!”

Good morning, all! I had a second pretty decent night of sleep, but I’m sure it won’t become habit. No errands today except to run to the credit union with the camper money so I can send a check to VISA. I got some ground beef when I was grocerying last night - meatloaf for supper tonight!

Other than that, just another glorious Thursday in steamy southern Merrylande!

Happy Thursday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 94 and partly cloudy for the day. I am sure the heat index will be somewhere around a hunnert. The big plan to day is to accomplish mowage. ‘Tis all wet out after the rain yestiddy but I’m plannin’ to get out there around nine this mornin’. After that, who knows what I might get into today. I’m sure I’ll need to let some water out of the cee-mint pond and clean out the skimmer.

OK that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Hey, doggio! How’s your head?

blurfarino. It’s Hella Humid out today.

Happy Thorsday

According to my phone it’s a cloudy 82 degrees outside, according to my window it’s sunny. It’s supposed to get up to 90 and rain later today.
It’s supposed to rain tomorrow and Saturday as well.
We’ll see.

I’ll make tacos today since we ordered pizza yesterday.

Nothing special or exciting on the agenda today.
Just the usual irk and clean house.
