A long series of events led me to read through Rob Paulsen’s trivia on imdb, where I read the following:
So, guess which DVD got immediately added to my Netflix queue? Well, watching through nearly everything, I didn’t see it. When Paulsen got introduced, there was a lot of cheering and all, but no two minute standing ovation, and no song. When Maurice LaMarche come on, they did do a bit together, which was cool, but nothing like what was described.
Did I miss something? Or is someone at IMDB (yeah, I know) pulling my leg? (To be sure, I enjoyed the panel and the radio show thing, but am disappointed that I didn’t see the song…)
His name is Robert Paulsen.
His name is Robert Paulsen.
His name is Robert Paulsen.
(I’m really sorry I have nothing useful to add, but I couldn’t resist)
Not much to add, except that “extremely rare public appearance” doesn’t apply to Paulsen. He used to run from one Warner Bros Studio Store to the next doing autographs. (Yes, I have one, with MacNeille’s and Harnell’s. No LaMarche, dammit.) He does a lot of radio shows, too. He’s hardly shy.
He’ll always be Yakko for me, too, but he won the main competition VO acting Emmy for Pinky. That’s quite a challenge, it usually goes to a slumming A-list celebrity. That may be why Pinky’s getting pride of place.
