Rodney Dangerfield

“I called up my doctor and told him I’d just taken a whole bottle of sleeping pills. He told me to have a few drinks and get some rest.”
Rodney, you’re getting one of “these” from all of us. Rest easy.

Damn Sqweels, talk about collective consciousness. I thought I I had made up that joke years ago. I was so proud of my wit. :::sigh::: It must be like that epsisode of The Partridge Family when uh…danny bonaduce thought he was in the process of writing this great song. He would wake up in the morning and play the melody and David Cassidy said that it was his own song and they fought about it and it turned out that Cassidy was playing it at night while Danny slept and Danny heard it in his dreams and thought he was some somnambulent genius or something. Yep…exactly like that, man.

Shoot. Rest in peace Rodney. :frowning:

“Hey, baby. You’re a whole lotta woman. You must have been something before electricity!”

“Whoo, the dance of the living dead!”

It’s easy to make my wife scream during sex. I just wipe my dick on the curtain.

I immediately thought that too. I figured that while it could be considered a very subtle joke from a reporter, that it was so subtle that most wouldn’t bother and that it must be the truth. I did laugh though. Still, Rodney was very cool and very funny.

Re Natural Born Killers

I thought he was great. IMHO an Oscar worthy perfomance. He just oozed sleaze.

Re Teller

We’ve discussed this in other threads. Teller does not talk on stage or when performing with Pen Gilette. He does occasionaly speak in interviews (for example promoting a book of cartoons drawn by his father and titled When I’m Dead, All This Will Be Yours). Breaking character to pay tribute to Rodney (I typed Dangerfield first. But that felt funny.) would be a sign of how important the man was to him.

“Bring a pitcher of beer every five minutes until some one passes out. Then, bring one every ten.”

If ya feel like it, ya can read of my recent encounter with Rodney’s ghost here.

Actually, it wasn’t the Screen Actor’s Guild, it was the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. According to CNN:
