The “evolution” of his core principles! Well spun, sir! His positions “evolved”! They weren’t chucked overboard instanter to pander to the troglodytic opinions of some knuckle-walking mouth breathers, nosir! His opinions “evolved”!
But that nasty fucking crack about the “surrendering” Democrats - goddamn, but that chaps my hide! I’d like to squeeze his head till al the mayonaisse spurts out his ears!
Mods: Might as well make this a sticky. I think 'luci’s going to keep it up around the top of page one for as long as he can keep finding more and worse things to say about this douche.
I think he’s just mad at the way things broke for him. His whole campaign was predicted on his smug phoniness, and now he’s going him in disbelief that he was somehow “too phony.”
Jon Stewart had a pretty good comment on the Romney cheap shot last night. He played the clip and then said, “Normally we’d have a bunch of writers working on funny stuff to say about that, but they’re on strike so I’ll just have to try to come up with something myself…hm…let’s see…[thinking]…ok, how about this? FUCK YOU.”
Now, now. He’s actually evolving incredibly quickly, given that he did not become self-aware until 2:14am EDT on August 29, 1997.
Give him a few more years of data-gathering and regular code tweaks and he’ll have the wit of Mencken, the energy of Ty Pennington, the resolute, gentle gravitas of Tim Gunn, and the ability to triangulate the postions of all Republicans everywhere.
And then you’ll all be sorry that you laughed at it. Er, him.
I just have to say that this expresses my thoughts on the matter perfectly. I actually felt a little bit sorry for him having to deal with people dissing his religion.
Today, if he got run over by a bus, I wouldn’t really mind.
I certainly did during his concession, I mean, sacrificing for the good of the nation speech. There should be a link to an audio file of that speech next to the definition of “smarmy.”
Actually, I disagree with that. I think Romney would have backpedaled toward the middle faster than any other Repubilican, with his team claiming (on backgroud) that he had to take all those nut-job rightist stances to get the Republican nomination. After all, he doesn’t really have any hard core philosophy at all, he is the Republican willow.
I think McCain (or Huckabee as a longshot) will stay truer to the right, and make for an easier blowout by the Dems.
