Donald definitely prefers #1, and Putin has a tape to prove it.
It’s clear to me that DeSantis has really been punching himself in the nuts very successfully with this Presidental campaign. The question is why? He certainly doesn’t seem very telegenic, for one thing. Is it just that and the idea that his “anti-woke” message is too obscure for a lot of casual voters?
Why what? why is he running for president or why is he so bad at it? Because it makes perfect sense to run now, he was pretty damn popular in Florida before all this and won his first election in a year we got a massive country wide blue wave. Frankly it is completely unexpected that he is doing this bad. Next election he would have been two years removed from being Governor with really nothing to do in between.
I meant the second, why is he so bad? And being successful in Florida (or any state) shouldn’t make someone think he’s ready for the big leagues.
That might be the thing. He’s only good enough to make it in Florida.
He’s only doing so badly because there is an 800 lb orange gorilla depleting the room of oxygen. Absent that, he’d be the clear frontrunner. And yeah, his unexpected win in the FL Governor’s race has gone to his head - he thinks he can pull an Obama. But, he is lacking many of the desirable characteristics while showcasing many of his odious ones.
Every time I see any evidence of his campaigning I think “Man, he’s really bad at this.”
I really wish a reporter at one of his press conferences would have the guts to ask, “Woke, woke woke woke woke. Woke woke woke?”
I disagree, Trump has not caused any of DeSantis stumbles nor his complete and utter lack of charisma.
There is no denying what you state. However, I maintain that he’d be in the lead right now in spite of all those issues. He’s a fool thru our lens, but for a certain kind of voter he’d be looking pretty good if there was not another shiny(-er) object nearby. They’d be willing to look past his issues because that’s all they got.
Fair enough, entirely by default but he probably would be. But they would be looking REAL hard for someone to replace him though.
Well, Individual-ONE set the template that deSadness is trying to play into, so in a way he really has. Ron is trying to out-ShitGibbon the Shitgibbon.
You can’t be a wannabe shitgibbon and pull that shit off. Unless the king shitgibbon is incarcerated. Short of that, good luck.
Well, this doesn’t help a whole lot.
Of course, NBC doesn’t say how they got the memo, which is linked to in the article. I wouldn’t surprise me if it ultimately came from the Trump campaign. Regardless, it does offer insights to the DeSantis campaign’s strategies for this summer.
Lotta rumblings that the Donor Class have begun to turn their sights to Tim Scott.
Sure, the mannerisms and batshit rhetoric, but that isn’t what is bringing DeSantis down.
Seriously? Wow they really are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Other than spend a lot of time in Iowa and New Hampshire. Although, come to think of it, prolonged exposure to voters at close quarters would probably end up hurting him.
I completely understand what you are saying but who else of this sorry lot are they going to turn to once DJT and DeSantis implode? I can practically hear them plotting about how much it will mess with independents and even some Democrats for them to nominate an African-American. Those people are nothing if not insensitive when it comes to what motivates centrist/left of center voters.
There’s plenty of time for someone to come out of nowhere and catch fire who you’d never suspect, that’s what happened with DJT in 2016. Many people wrote him off as a stunt candidate who wasn’t seriously running. I was one of those people.
I suspect the eventual nominee might be somebody that we would consider right now to have no chance.
