Hmm…well, I rarely use “shit” to refer to excrement, either. I guess the question would be one of origin rather than usage, then. For that matter, I guess there’s a whole lot of swear words that I don’t know the origin to. “Bloody” was one of the few that I thought made perfect sense

I still end up throwing the “BS Flag” when people explain to me about the acronym for “Fornication Under the Command of the King”, or “For Unlawful Carnal Knowlege” (which cropped up a lot more after that Van Halen album came out…hmmmm…)

“Rogering” is unfamiliar enough that my 12th grade English teacher had to explain the double meaning in Lord of the Flies. (If I recall correctly, Roger is the boy leading the charge in shoving the spear up the pig’s nether orifice.)

But not unfamiliar enough to keep me from creating a character named Roger Roundley.

I think ‘rogering’ is used a number of times in Lady Chatterleys Lover and I still think it is very expressive.
