You’re correct that the deceased person can no longer earn money to pay their debts, but to the extent that they leave behind an estate, debts owed will be satisfied before heirs receive anything. This is the entire point of probating an estate. Probate is an accounting: Assets determined, liabilities (debts) satisfied, then distribution to beneficiaries.
I think @Czarcasm’s point is that the estate of a decedent is not the person. The person leaves behind an estate, of whatever value. Creditors can try to extract what is owed by the person from that estate, but they cannot get anything from the person any more.
That may be, but it makes the statement below very confusing and unclear in what he means.
It was still their estate that was in debt while they were alive anyway. Unless indebted servitude is made legal again, dying doesn’t change anything in regards to the status of your debt. Creditors can’t get money out of a “person” whether they’re alive or dead, because a person isn’t an accepted form of currency in modern day law. They have to get money out of that person’s assets. A person themselves is not an asset.
It looks like some people use the word “estate” that way, but in the usage I’m familiar with, “estate” is only used for the property of a dead person.
Whatever you want to call a person’s accumulated assets.
I Pit Death for not taking him sooner. LOL
“Wished him well” ?!! Heck, according to Right Wing propaganda, he is the reincarnation of Christ, so why doesn’t he just heal him instead?
Death has standards.

Death Don’t Want No Rudy
So I guess my master plan of buying a Lamborghini and a mansion and then stiffing the lenders is out the window?
Oh Ru-u-u-u-u-dy, don’t take your guff to town.
If you don’t have heirs or care about behests, go ahead.
A message to you, Rudy.
Better think of your future.
Realistically. Does he have any wealth left or is he just another destitute old man, dying?
I have zero sympathy.
I can usually find one redeeming quality in a person, not this one.

How about this? He’s so full of shit, he’ll make good fertilizer.
What did those poor plants do to you?
According to his spokesman, Giuliani is suffering from pneumonia. The spokesman claims that this is related to Giuliani suffering from “restrictive airway disease,” and also claims that that disease was the result of Giuliani being on site at the World Trade Center immediately after the 9/11 attacks.

I can think of one. At least Ghouliani isn’t Trump.
“The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out…”
Dang, Rudy couldn’t you wait til after death?
