Everyone starts by rolling a pair of dice, the person who gets the highest prime number (excluding 1 and 2) goes first, second highest second, etc. Those who did roll primes must sit out a turn…
Each of the players (who are not sitting this turn out) must open a new thread in any forum. If the thread is closed or moved by a moderator or administrator, the player is disqualified for this turn. If, because of the thread, the player receives any kind of warning or admonition from a moderator or administrator that player is disqualified for this turn. If the player is banned he/she is out of the game. After 2 days (measured from the time of the dice roll) the player who posted the thread with the greatest views/replies ratio wins 10 points. Any thread where either of these numbers is zero is disqualified for this turn. If there is a tie then no points are awarded. You may post to your own thread provided that you never have 2 posts in a row. 2 posts in a row disqualify the thread for this turn. Players may not post in other players threads.
Oh, never mind. I thought this was Ultimate FRISBEE… which would be very hard to play over a message board.
As it is, this doesn’t make sense. Carry on with your confusion, then.

Looks like I killed this with confusing rules.
Sorry 'bout that. It sounded good when I posted it.
With the exception of this post, self-referential posts in the rule thread are not to be allowed. Any self-referential post subtracts half the value of the prime (rounded up) or non-prime, as the case may be, from the total amassed so far. Any negative amount shall not be held against the player, or his/her agents, with respect to future point accumulations.
Neither shall any negativity be ascribed to the player, or his/her agents, with respect to the final outcome of this game, or any game resulting from this thread, for the lack of substantive proof regarding the relative “primeness” or lack of said quality to the number chosen by the choosee.
Numbers that are not chosen shall not, ipso facto, be considered unchosen. Any choice, therefore, shall not, in and of itself, be considered relinquishment of any and all rights regarding any numbers unchosen, explicit or otherwise.
Points, if awarded at all, shall not be construed to indicate anything other than the standing in the contest, hereafter referred to as the “contest”. The contest shall not be held responsible for any loss of property, livelihood, or other well-being during the duration of the contest.
Participants in the contest, hereafter referred to as “contestants”, shall knowingly enter into this contest as adults of an age of consent. Participation in said contest shall be attest to said condition.
Dies, hereafter referred to as “dice”, shall have no number greater than seven (7). Other numbers shall be rounded down to the nearest non-transcendental integer, or three (3) at the discretion of the managers of said contest. Unless we’re about to lose.
Well, I got it.
Rule 3: If the player’s screen name has a prime number of letters, only rules numbered with primes apply. If the player’s screen name has a composite of letters, only rules numbered with composites apply. Sock puppets need not apply.
Rule 5: For the purposes of the contest “12” shall, for all intents and purposes, be considered prime.
Rule 7: For the purposes of the contest the previous post shall be considered as rule #5.
This is to inform you that the SDMB already has an Official game. 43 Man Squamish

We demand you cease and desist your misrepresentations of being the “SDMB Ultimate Game”, or our Cannibalistic Lawyers ™ will have to get jiggy wit you.
Thank you.
Rule 9: All 43 Man Squamish references are illegal, and result in the flogging of poster.
Rule Number 10:
If the post you post on your turn has a reference that can be found in one of Uncle Cecil’s columns, then that player loses the amount of points equal to the MMDDYYYY date code of said Uncle Cecil column, divided by the original prime number. The player who has found the reference receives the exact same number of points added to their score.
If after 2 days, a reference was not found by another player, but there is a reference in the post, then the posting player receives said amount of points.
