Russians will retaliate by shelling more schools and hospitals. This is a terrorism operation at this point.
Only because that was what the post was talking about. Agreed that it seems overly confined as a premise.
Unfortunately, they did that before Turkey sent the first drones - it’s always been about eliminating Ukrainians and Ukraine’s culture and sovereignty.
But isn’t MAD the “song and dance” that prevents the nukes flying? That is, that virtually no one will survive a nuclear war so no one had better launch even one nuke?
Article 5 is in no way a blank check, as it only applies to nations being attacked and not to those doing the attacking. If Hungary starts something with…Serbia? Seems like that would piss off Orban’s buddy in Moscow. Austria, I guess, since all their other neighbours are NATO members. If Hungary seeks to reclaim the glory of the Austro-Hungarian Empire by invading Austria, NATO is in no way obliged to participate. It’s a mutual defense treaty, not a mutual offense treaty.
“This is like my personal tank. I am [the] tank commander and tank owner,”
Rick: Russia: Vyv! Alex! Where did you get that Howitzer?!
Vyvyan: Alex: Found it!
Rick: Russia: Well, you can just about bloomin’ well put it back this instant, young man!
Vyvyan: Alex: I will, I will, just as soon as I’ve blown you to pieces! [fires a round as Rick Russia dives for cover]
How did Alex learn to fire Bunny accurately enough to make that many kills?
Just learning to drive a tank would be challenging for me.
I guess the auto loader makes it easier to fire.
The story does seem suspicious. There’s also the question of how he survived so many encounters without getting blown up along with Bunny by return fire. The article mentions dozens of kills in March. Where did he get the ammo to destroy that many Russian vehicles? What about April and May? If Bunny was destroyed during this time period, how did Alex survive?
Ukrainians are blowing up miltary targets. That isn’t terrorism.
And there is no reason to believe Russians won’t target any and all schools and hospitals, whether the Ukrainians fight back or not.
Yes that’s correct. That’s why i accused Russia of terrorism, not Ukraine.
And yes, I don’t believe Russia would end targetting schools and hospitals, until they get the entire country. Because they are behaving like terrorists.
OK, I misunderstood. It sounded like Russians targeting schools and hospitals was a consequence of Ukrainian drones targeting Russian soldiers.
‘Look what you’re making me do!’
Ouch.
OK, so you think that NATO expansion ought not to be considered very carefully?
Not for stupid reasons, no.
A first hand report of patroling outside Kharkiv. Most of tthe Russians have left. The Ukrainians are still fighting some men from the separatist Donbas region. It does seem the war has shifted away from Kharkiv.
Defending Kharkiv is quite an accomplishment.
I’m sure it was considered considered carefully, by many people, including the legislatures of Sweden and Finland, their prime ministers, the president of Finland, and NATOs governing body. These folks almost certainly considered the matter carefully. Considered very carefully is not a euphemism for rejected, which seems to be the implication of your post.
Gosh. You OK?
Why, exactly, do people think Zelenskyy is a badass? Here is a video, all in Russian, comparing Vlad and Volodymyr, which show just how fucking good Zelenskyy (or his staff) is at messaging. The symbolism is not subtle, even if the language is unintelligible to you.
I see that Putin has cut off Russia’s electricity supply to Finland. Apparently a dire warning! The Finns are laughing it off because it’s just a tiny percentage of their total electricity supply.
The bigger problem is Turkey and Erdogan’s obstructionism, which is important because, truth be told, Turkey has been an important NATO ally in the entire post-war era, and as mentioned before, is helping out Ukraine quite significantly.
