There are reports of Russian soldiers using Tinder to try to hook up with Ukrainian women.
At this point in history, I’d only be surprised if a large group of unappealing men invading a place they’re not wanted didn’t try to hook up on Tinder.
I don’t know anything about Tinder. Can the man put in a note saying ready for marriage, EU passport required?
Having never used Tinder, I can’t say what their filtering questions include.

I just have to vent for a moment. This whole thing has me feeling depressed and helpless, along with a sense of disbelief that the leader of any major country could be such a blatantly ruthless murderous thug. The sad thing is that the NATO powers, including the US, must feel almost equally helpless. We’d all like to see that 40-mile long Russian military convoy bombed into oblivion, but Putin is desperate enough and deranged enough to be extremely dangerous when cornered. I never imagined that the past couple of horrible years of pandemic could get even worse.
Wish I could find the source again, but I read an article a few years ago that described how throughout much of modern warfare, soldiers have often tried to hook up with local women - not as in rape, but genuinely trying to woo them. Many German soldiers, in particular, were fond of having local French girlfriends play dress-up in WWII in which they would have their newfound GFs wear their German army uniforms.
There are so many American military assets meant specifically for making a tasty meal of long convoys like this…sigh

The people of Russia have, in less than a week started to panic and withdraw money from banks that are now crippled on the world market. The will soon see empty shelves of any import foods or products. It will be painfully obvious what a mess this is and who is responsible for it.
If someone wanted to start a revolution in Russia to topple the government they couldn’t have done a better job than Putin just did.
Probably just a pipedream but Ukrainian pilots were picking up 70 fighter jets in Poland.
I’m hoping they’re armed and the 70 can rain down hell on that 40 mile column.
Russia has been tossed out of the world cup by FIFA. The IOC has told all international sports federations to remove Russia from any international competitions. Germany has doubled it’s military budget. NATO is re-energized. The UN has bypassed the security council and is going to vote on whether or not Russia remains in the UN. Companies are leaving Russia or selling their investments. Russian banks are frozen out of the international banking community; even Switzerland (normally neutral) has joined.
Russia is going to be economically screwed for quite some time to come.
And one must not forget: Putin’s honorary black belt in Taekwondo has been revoked.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. It’s hard for me to believe that this idiot pulled the trigger on this thing. It’s just so…so…so…stupid. So fucking stupid. And he did it because he thought he was the smartest in the room, and thought he could basically do anything and everyone would just cower in fear. It’s a seriously fucking stupid reason to go to war, to get so many people on both sides killed. What a waste.
How long would it take to paint a couple of B-52 bombers in Ukrainian colours? They could be loaded with a maximum capacity 70,000 pounds of bombs, and then donated to Ukraine to help welcome the Russian convoy.

Are there any Warthogs stationed in Europe? Hell, any old Aardvarks? They were designed for just this thing.
What we really need to do is give the Ukrainians some MLRS batteries. And maybe some advisors to help them train on it really, really fast. Man, I bet a 17 mile column would make the cannon cockers mouths just water.
All this wishful thinking aside, what the Ukrainians should really do is let the column pass, then come in behind and hit the bowsers and tanker trucks and other supply elements. All that stuff is going to find it really hard to continue on when they run out of bullets, beans and gas.
Realistically, the Ukrainians can’t operate any aircraft they weren’t already trained on long in advance.
American pilots could be on board to provide on-the-job “training”!
