IIRC, in WW2 reconnaissance/photographic Spitfires were painted pink to make them less discernible from below.
At the Victory Day parade Putin "says civilization is at a “decisive turning point” and that “real war has been unleashed” against Russia. And Transnistria wants more Russian peacekeepers.
Too late to edit my previous post: I think the Ukraine part of the war isn’t going well, so Putin is trying to pull in fear of the West as a boogeyman to supercharge his effort. A Bigger Bad-perhaps this adds credence to the Kremlin drone being a false flag?
It turns out there was only one tank at the Victory Day parade. A T-34 that was dragged out from a museum.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s next stop is to the front lines rather than being returned to it’s museum.
If it gets captured by Ukraine I want them to hold another parade with it mocking Putin.
Wait a second, that was legit?
I saw that and just assumed it was some parody site manufacturing some trolling news for funnies.
I’d love to watch that parade, in Kiev.
Apparently so. Although according to the article that particular T-34 gets used every year as the lead tank. What was different this year wasn’t that they used the T-34, it’s that they didn’t have any other tanks following it.
If that isn’t completely emblematic of Russia (and Putin in particular) in this whole disaster: one outdated warhorse chasing the delusions of past glories and no one left to follow him.
Gosh. I wonder why.
Oh really? That is hilarious. Thanks.
Israeli equipment should be effective. Their Iron Dome has a solid reputation.

Military targets in Crimea are legitimate. Ukraine needs these missiles.
What, no mention yet that one of Russia’s “unstoppable” hypersonic missiles was, in fact, stopped?
I’ve seen many reports claiming Putin is in poor health. Putin walked unassisted at the Victory Day celebrations. Alexander Lukashenko needed a ride and he left early.
It appears Putin will continue this war for some time. He didn’t appear to be in bad health.

Not the biggest news, but a French journalist named Arman Soldin was killed in Ukraine by a rocket attack. Just another reminder that for all the crap the news media gets, there are still people out there doing dangerous work.
Russia’s 72nd motorized brigade has apparently either retreated from Bakhmut or been destroyed in action. Prigozhin is pissed off that the regular Russian forces “pissed away three square km this morning” in an area that around 500 Wagnerites died trying to secure.
Prigozhin also claimed that he received an order that if he and his men retreat from Bakhmut, that they would be officially considered traitors (the word he used sounded to me like Judas).
I didn’t realize Prigozhin was personally leading his troops from the front line in Bakhmut. Now it makes a lot more sense why Putin hasn’t taken any action against him.
