Shorter video. The Russians are running away. They must be greeen replacements.
What makes you say that? It’s just a video of people running.
If Russian forces are fleeing when Ukraine tries to advance, it’s yet another piece of evidence that morale and logistics are the kings of war. It doesn’t matter how many conscripts you have if they’re not willing to face the enemy. It doesn’t matter how many rockets and shells you can launch from afar if your soldiers aren’t willing to face the enemy.
Or just smart.
Are the ones running the front line troops? or the back-up troops who are supposed to shoot the front line troops?
Odd army structure.
I dont know, but logically, they would be the backup troops. Having shot all the retreating front line troops, they no longer had orders and decided to go home.

My guess is those are the troops from the 72nd motorized bridge. The ones that remained are presumably the Wagnerites, since they received orders that they will be considered traitors if they do retreat.
Message from up high saves Russian soldier’s life:
They’re the backup backup troops who are supposed to shoot the backup troops if the backup troops don’t shoot the frontline troops.
Yep - Putin might be hoping the Ukrainians take care of his Wagner “problem” for him.
From the language, it sounds like regular Russian defense ministry forces are holding parts of the Bakhmut line, presumably territory ganed by Wagner, and the regulars can’t even muster the stones to hold a prepared defensive position against Ukrainian pressure.
Disgusting as it sounds, it seems that Wagner is the only force with the will to take and hold ground. And they seem to have bled themselves pale doing it, and their replacements won’t do the job.
I have no idea how Russia continues to delude themselves they can win in the field.
Which must sting a bit with Prigozhin, the number of times he’s thrown “traitor” at the Russian military and logistics.
Any chance you could give us more than just a link to a video? Maybe summarize his point?
I do realize you’re not the only Doper who does this.
In fairness, I can’t imagine the stress soldiers must be under in this war. In previous wars, there were rather well defined ‘fronts’, and if you were even a few miles back from the front you were pretty much safe. So soldiers could rotate out of the front and decompress, then rotate back in.
Previous wars had bombing and strafing by aircraft, but they were generally high value targets. If you were in a foxhole miles behind the line you were completely safe.
Now, if you are a soldier in Ukraine death can rain down on you at any time. I’ve seen lots of videos of Russians being killed in their sleep in trenches by drones dropping grenades on them. A command center 50 km behind enemy lines gets clobbered by high precision artillery when some idiot makes a cell phone call. Just being transported to the front runs the risk of your column getting smacked by drones.
There’s simply no respite from the threat of instant death. That’s got to take a huge pyschological toll.
We’re 63 weeks into the war. On the one hand, it feels longer. On the other, the steady drip of news and horror makes it seem like much less.
Ukraine says that its forces have broken through Russian lines near Bahkmut. Wagner wants more ammo and Europe is happy to send it to them via Ukraine.
The UK is supplying Ukraine with long range cruise missiles. The exact number is unclear in the articles I’ve read.
Misleading headline. Is providing, not has provided.
It didn’t take long for Russia to try countering Ukraine’s Western Tanks. I’d hate to encounter uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs)

Emphasis on “try”.
Does MARKER have a Reverse gear? 50 quatloos says the Ukrainian Army captures at least a dozen of them in the first week they are deployed.
