What an awsome sports specticle. (I spelled it wrong, and I don’t care! I’m excited!)
That game was every bit as good as all the hype surrounding it. That was a prime example of why I watch college football.
What a defensive effort for the Knights in the second half! I’m the newest, biggest fan!
Now, all I need is for Florida and Texas to lose, and the Trojans are right back in it! (and we need to beat Cal, those irish fags and UCLA, and the Ducks, too!)
Seriously, way to go Rutgers. My hat is off to you. Great game!
Thanks for starting this thread because someone needed to do it. I have never been so damn homesick for Jersey. What I wouldn’t give to be back home partying with everyone right now. The BCS Championship has just been blown wide open.
Dude… you lost to OREGON STATE. Unranked OREGON STATE. I think USC loses again. Notre Dame is overhyped, but they’re good enough to beat USC.
Florida has made a cottage industry out of winning ugly. That’s gonna end at Florida State or in the SEC game. Bottom line, my 'Horns just need to win out and could well find themselves in Glendale come January…
Either Michigan or Ohio St. to lose to a team they shouldn’t, and then for that team to get blown out by the other in the head-to-head matchup,
Oregon to beat USC this weekend, then USC beat Cal and Notre Dame down the stretch,
Spurrier to beat Florida in his return “home” this weekend,
Texas to blow the Big-12 Championship Game,
Tennessee to beat Arkansas this weekend,
Auburn to drop a game to Georgia and/or the SEC Championship, and
Rutgers to take out WVU on the final day of the regular season
… so that we can argue whether an undefeated Rutgers would deserve to be in the national championship over a two-loss team from anywhere else
More in reality, the Rutgers D and running game both looked great tonight. I’d like to see a little more from their QB before I’d anoint them capable of winning against any of the Worshipped Yet Flawed teams. That was a serious defensive performance, though, the way they were consistently getting to Brohm through a line that has kept several bowl-eligible teams from getting anywhere near him this year.
What a great game! That 2nd half D was inspiring. Did you see how that stadium was rockin? Those fans were going out of their minds. Thank you Scarlet Knights for helping pave the way for another University of Texas National Championship. Michigan and Florida who?
HAHA that was great! In all honesty, while I’m a HUGE SEC fan (Florida alum), I have to admit the Big East is looking really good this year. I’ve been impressed with all 3 of their top teams, and heck Rutgers looked like they could hold up against an SEC or Big 10 team the way they played in the 2nd half. I say if they go undefeated they should be given a shot, well at least placed above most of the 1-loss teams.
I can’t believe that Louisville guy was offsides for the first field goal that was missed…wow.
Did I get whooshed or did the OP just call the Irish fags?
Anyway, I really enjoyed watching the Knights’ running game. They had some interesting plays and blocking schemes. That back could really squeeze through some tight holes.
Lest I be mistaken for a miscreant Ohio State fan, I am unable to hop on the bandwagon and wear scarlet. Otherwise, count me in as a Rutgers fan. They really threw a wrench in the BCS tonight, eh?
I’ll be pulling for Texas to take the #2 spot in the National Championship game (assuming my Wolverines win the big game next week). You guys were a classy bunch at the Rose Bowl a couple years ago, and I wouldn’t mind sharing a stadium with you again. I must admit, though, that I fantasize nightly about beating Ohio State twice in one season.
Wasn’t that surreal? All night long the announcers gave figurative reach-arounds to the special teams unit of Louisville, then that play comes down the pike.
Even though that cost the Big East a shot at the National Championship game, it’s probably brought the conference back from the dead and back into national prominence once again. (Ohh, and while this isn’t as important, brought the Mountaineers back into a position to go to a BCS bowl :D)
I can’t wait for December 2nd…WVU vs. Rutgers here in Morgantown…gonna be there (well, hopefully)
My dad watched the game last night and called to tell me about my alma mater’s victory. He has another school to root for now. I can’t even be bothered to remember the mascot.
I was at the sports bar last night that’s about 2 miles from Rutgers stadium. The streets in New Brunswick were packed with Rutgers fans, screaming, yelling, chanting “RRRR UUUU RRRR UUUUU”. I lost my voice screaming during the entire game at the bar. It was absolutely intense. People screaming, yelling, throwing popcorn, beer, chanting, singing. If you’re interested, I took some videos inside of the bar with my cell phone. What an experience. Simply the greatest sports experience of my entire life.
