Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool Spinoff

Yup, Ryan Reynolds will be playing Deadpool again for a spinoff and possible franchise launcher, according to this website.

Also in the works: another Wolverine movie, Magneto, and I read somewhere about a Gambit spinoff.

I’ll be in line to see the Deadpool movie.

So would this be a prequel of a prequel, or would we be subjected to the mute/ugly version of Ryan Reynolds?

I was never sure that the mute ugly version was Deadpool.
Weapon XI was played by Scott Adkins which made me ask if Weapon XI was supposed to have been created from whole-cloth or whether he was a mutated Deadpool.

Wolverine makes the remark to the effect of: Wade, that is you, isn’t it? Stryker finally found a way to shut you up.
And so I thought it was, but I don’t know the history of the comics well enough to know for sure.

IMO it seems that if you make him mute, there is no point in bothering with the film.

Deadpool in the comics is ugly but not mute.

Well in the comics, Deadpool has a healing factor so it’s not a problem for the muteness especially if you’ve seen the easter egg trailer for him.

I remember at first being really irked that they had an Unmasked Deadpool in the Wolverine films, but I think Ryan did a really good job with it. Though I hope they keep his voice and just go w/ a guy in a mask, as that’s how Deadpool’s always been.

You know, this would have appealed to me a lot, until I actually saw Reynolds as Deadpool in the film. What the fuck were they thinking? It was absolutely unbelievable. Instead of a great villain, what we got was a half-arsed brute who used phony kinetics and lacked confidence, with mediocre special effects, zero personality, and absolutely no redeeming qualities except as a meaningless rest-stop on the highway of Wolverine’s conquests; played by a hack actor with no qualifications at all. It’s absurd! It’s as absurd as Legally Blonde Part XVII: The Rhodesian Years. Sickening, sickening. The best possible outcome would be to see Deadpool slide down a 500-foot waterfall, his dong dangling in the breeze, and then be slashed to pieces by autoblades.

I notice a disappointing lack of “Cable &” in that OP. Then again, the people responsible for the last two X-Men movies might not be able to give the idea the treatment it deserves.

He’ll grow back.

Now, what do you think?

So it’s a fully-CGI movie?

…what the hell was that???

That was Ryan Reynolds in test footage for Deadpool that was made three years ago and recently leaked. More info here:

http://screenrant.com/deadpool-test-footage-leaked-ryan-reynolds.

If the intent of the leak was to prod Fox to get off their asses and make a Deadpool movie, I think that they’ve got a good start.

Rumors are that the footage has prompted the movie to be discussed again, but only as a PG-13 movie.

Is that a direct capture of the Deadpool video game seen here?

Here’s a better link:

Dude, those aren’t real people; they are all CGI.

Your point?

I’ll ask again: so it’s an all-CGI movie?

From the Screenrant link:

"Liefeld added that (as has been rumored previously) Robert Rodriguez was offered the director’s chair for Deadpool in 2010, but he turned it down along with another competing comic book movie project. Speaking to Daily Superhero, Liefeld also revealed that the plan for Deadpool was to have the character “operate as a… hybrid of live action/cgi.

So, I would expect that it would be as CG as any other modern superhero movie.

I’m kind of tired of the snarky wise cracking protagonist. I know Deadpool was one of the first to be like that but now that they all sound like that it’s boring.
