Sailing Maine – a post-vacation MMP

No - Southwestern PA. Basically I live about a mile from the stadiums in Pittsburgh. Which is why you can rarely find me anywhere near home if I have any say in the matter.
I refer to this general region as Pennsyltucky ------- it has all the bad traits of KY without any of the benefits.

Sounds like a great trip despite the weird captain!

We were out in that area last weekend too. We flew in to Hartford; drove to Mystic; wandered Mystic Seaport (the museum) for a while; spent the night at a great B&B; met my cousin, his wife, and their 10-mo-old for coffee; walked around Newport for a while, including the cliff walk, which was really neat; drove up to the NW suburbs of Boston; and had dinner at the triplets’ parents’ house. My two college friends, the one with the six-week-old triplets and the one with a three-mo-old, were there. Plus the triplets’ mom’s sister and her 16-mo-old. So 7 adults and 5 babies. It was crazy. But fun to see them all and hold all of the babies. We stopped in Amherst on the way back across Massachusetts and also swung through South Hadley to walk around the Mount Holyoke campus where I’d spent my freshman year. Then on to the Albany area to meet Mom and Dad for dinner. And lunch the next day with former coworkers. Then a nice non-highway (we did mostly non-highway driving for the whole weekend) drive back to Hartford. Good trip but busy time.

And last week was busy so I didn’t get back here until now. Glad to see everything still looks normal here! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m on a lunch/intratoobz break. Whew! Next up is bathrooms cleanin’, then vacuumin’ and moppin’ and I shall be done!

taxi ten month old babies should not have coffee. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, time for a sammich and then back to defilthyfyin’.

Laterz!

I don’t see why not. It doesn’t match breastmilk for clever and attractive packaging but it does wash the taste of Winstons out of their mouths. (At least thats how it works on mothers side of the family  )

I want to eat healthy but it just never works out. I was going to make a fruit smoothie but my almond breeze expired and tasted sour, I considered and egg white omelet (just bought egg whites in the carton) but I didn’t want to cook anything. So I settled on my standby, PB&J, but it’s healthy because it’s on whole grain bread. Right? The sadder thing is that’s what I had for dinner last night sans the J because I’d already had a lot of sugar yesterday.

This just in: VWife reported to me that she went out to run an errand this morning, and grazed a bear (N. O. S.) with The Family Truckster. She had to change underwear when she got home.

Well, the verdict is in… Midas is $80 to $200 more. I’m taking it to a nice little local place where I had it before for an alignment.

Not too much else happening here.

taxi I suppose the coffee would sober the dear little one up after its (have no idea if this a boy or a girl baby) post nap six pack.

BBBobbio that’s the problem with my idiot Nawth Keerliner cousins. They won’t stay out of the road. It’s been explained to 'em time and time again to just stay in the state parks and swipe picanic baskets and beer coolers but they won’t listen!

Coyote of course a pbj is healthy. A pbj contains both protein and fruit. The food pyramid says we should have lots of both.

Da cave is now defilthyfied both inside and out. Of course the yahd needs a mowin’ but that ain’t happenin’ until later in the week cause I want it to look good for the weekend.

I’s tahred!

…Zzzzzoooooooommmmmm…

17 interviews today with 4 left to do. My brain is fried!

I interview someone from Albany, Georgia today and I immediately thought of swampy

If this person can speak in complete sentences and write his/her name, then he/she did not graduate from the Dougherty County School System. I say grill 'em! Where’d you go to school! Was it Lee County? Was it Deerfield-Windsor Private? We know it wasn’t DCSS because you can speak in complete sentences and write your name! Get a confession mmmmmm!

…driveby…

Cool Op FCM, and it sounds like a pretty good vacation. Loved the lobster supper photo; lobster, the east coast’s king crab!

Other than that, hello everyone, here’s hoping for a sane week. (Yup, I am already delusional!)

…I’m gone…

I know I’ve been quiet lately. I’ve been doing stuff. Y’know, not on the computer.

Anyway, mom and I went to the $3 theater and saw Robin Hood. Meh. Mom enjoyed it, I wasn’t terribly impressed. When mom comes home we’re going up to Santa Barbara to visit my sister and probably go thrift store shopping. My dad’s in Arizona for the week.

No, that isn’t the Bowditch, but it is a schooner. Boat lesson - two masts with the taller one aft is a schooner. Two masts with the taller one forward is a ketch. Two masts with a much smaller second mast sitting aft of the rudder is a yawl. More than 2 masts could be many other kinds of boats. One mast all the way on the bow is a catboat. One mast about 1/3 or so of the way back is a sloop. Our boat is a sloop. Hope you were taking notes - there will be a quiz later…

You noticed, no doubt, that I didn’t post any pics of the Boston Aquarium. If you snooped around that photobucket account, you’ll have seen one called Boston Aquarium. Feel free to look at the fishies and penguins and seals. I thought it was too boring to single out, but I’d already posted it.

Another hot day, and more in store. I am officially sick to death of summer. Seriously, dude!

Sounds like* you had fun. I love being on a sailboat. My friends have one anchored in a marina on one of the western bays of Long Island Sound. And I will be going out on it this summer at some point. I promise to take pictures.

*“sounds like” isn’t right - “reads like” is much better

That reads like it was a very nice trip, FCM. Loved the pics and was drooling at all that lobster.

I survived Monday, although I was very nearly in an accident on my way home from work. Fortunately, I drive very defensively. I was headed eastbound on a the road home, when some fucking moron decided he needed to hurry up and turn left out of the Albertson’s parking lot and cut me off. Fortunately, I was watching him and hadn’t gotten quite up to full speed yet after going through the green light. I didn’t have to lock up my brakes, but I sure did have to stop fast. I’m glad the guy behind me was paying attention too.

Right after, two more idiots had to be in a big ass hurry and turn out in front of when exiting the Home Depot parking lot. They screeched out of the parking lot, and then proceeded to drive 10 miles below the speed limit. STupid gits…:rolleyes:

At any rate, I’m home now and glad to be here. My dogs were happy to see me and had to give me hugs and kisses.

Taters doggy hugs and kisses always make everything better.

Had a great time at men’s night tonight. We had a good crowd and much merriment ensued. Good food. Good drink. Great company. That and the hokey pokey are what it’s all about!

I say let’s all Hokey Pokey!

This reference title may be of use to future MMPs.

Now that’s a must have book!

Tired.

Going to bed.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
