I think drivers like that should just have their licenses revoked, Taters. Seems like a lot more people would drive competently if there were actual consequences for putting people in danger.
Sounds like you had a nice vacation, taxi. I wondered where you’d gone off to.
Back from annual ice cream party. I had about 8 kinds of ice cream. Yum. Also, strawberries and blueberries.
Now I should fall asleep, but I’m still too wound up, of course.
Guess I’ll knit for a bit and maybe watch something…
That was a great OP, FCM; I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and looking at your pics. Sorry the lobster roll was so expensive, though; I’ve heard they are quite tasty, the hot ones. LOL Heck, the cold ones are too!!
The endocrinologist wants to see me in 6 months this time, with tests for thyroid levels in 3 months to be adjusted if necessary.
This heat is really taking a toll on me; I’ve been having problems breathing. I need to see my primary care doctor to adjust my inhaler meds. Then on Wednesday, it’s off to see the vascular surgeon. Wee! (NOT) Ah well…
Sorry I didn’t get back last week. I was busy all weekend, after the Millionaire audition; and yes, I PASSED! Both the test and the interview. Of course, it could be a year or more before they call. Hubby is telling everyone who will listen that he’s going to retire.
Gratz picu.
Back from Home. Didn’t kill any relatives. Watched The Kidlet build most of a puzzle by himself: he gets bored easily but likes puzzles, so his Dad is using them as a treat to get him to understand that persistence pays. Bro was never into puzzles, that was me, so he phoned me to ask for tips when he decided to start doing this. This puzzle was a 100-piece, they had built the frame the previous night and I only helped with one piece. Any time The Kidlet manages to finish a puzzle completely by himself, he gets a new one. He should be graduating to mine soon, I’ve got several 500 and 1K from when I was a bit older than he is. He needs to move when he’s thinking, which is one of those things most teachers can’t deal with I do that too, I’m a pacer.
The Kidlette looked at me funny at first (“do I know her?”) but decided that yeah, she knows me and I’m OK.
Their maternal Uncle came by with a new iPad and proceeded to show it off. He was quite forlorn when some of the things he found absolutely fascinating (like the image turning by itself when you turn the screen) were taken for granted by the Kidlet. But the thing is, the Kidlet doesn’t have enough background information to recognize that feature as a Cool New Thing!
Brought down half my Pterris and Bujolds, left the other half at Mom’s to be brought over in further trips.
Things are going well at work, there is a guy I sort of supervise who keeps asking the same question, but I just keep giving him the same answer. I’m stubborn that way, when I decide on a design feature after much thought and for a list of reasons longer than my arm, I tend to stick to it.
As do Bubba, Mickey, and Gizmo!
Well, I’m awake. As usual, Mother Nature woke me up an hour before my alarm was supposed to go off. I guess it’s good that it was only an hour. It sounded like it was raining out there earlier. I guess it might be nice to find an umbrella before I go out.
picu gratz on passin’ the interview and test. Whenever I happen to remember to buy a ticket for big game or mega millions I go around carryin’ on about how filthy rich I’m about to be. I know I have a better chance of six inches of snow in south Jawja in August than winnin’ the lottery but still it’s fun to carry on about bein’ fabulously wealthy. So, cut hubby some slack there.
And that’s all the news from swampland at this time.
I guess we were wrong. It’s actually the resonator hitting the converter and making noise, plus the rear pipe is disintegrating here and there (which I sorta knew) so it will cost a little extra.
I thought I was in the grips of an up and coming migraine earlier but after some aspirin, it seems to have passed.
Good Tuesday morning everyone. I have no illnesses, rude people, traffic mishaps, cute dog stories, cute kitty stories, trip stories, or work mayhem (more on him later) reports to file. And I like it that way!
Anybody else think Mr. Mayhemwould be fun to date?
Why does the pig on that chitlin book like it’s deflated? Ewww…
I’m probably going to be scarce - TPTB have obnoxious web filtering in this building because “some people” have a nebulous legal need for web filtering. So, they get ham-handed and block everything to everyone rather than just that one office.
I’m taking a couple of days off to recover between projects. My last paycheck was for almost exactly double the normal hours. OT pay is nice, but 14 hour days are not. I can has nap now?
Sticks, I didn’t understand most of last post but condolences and commisserations on the part I did understand!
gotpwds, I still have to see a place where the web filtering is any decent. This one lets me access the Dope, but not anything classified as “news”, and if a post contains certain key words (for example, one that begins by n, has four letters and denotes a party which was in power in Germany for a while during the first half of the 20th century) then that page gets blocked. Most places will do things like block “music” but not “musica” or vice versa…
Cool campaign but I liked their Free Soviet Stuff one better. And not just because a cousin in the Old Country made a ton of Rubles selling them crap. “Don’t be Stalin - just Trotsky down to your favorite store”
I have cute kitty stories, I just haven’t uploaded my pics. There are two kittens at work that I am very attached to. We had a client that saw one and was sort of interested but their old cat was not doing well and they wanted to wait a little. Then their old cat passed away and they said they needed more time. They visited him and the other kitten though. The boy was being a squirmy kitten but the girl was being a sweetie. But he still needed more time. I haven’t heard from the guy in a week and I guess he’s not interested.
I thought they’d be a great home because they had no other cats and they took very good care of their previous cats. But now the girl kitten has mild pneumonia, she had an upper respiratory infection that seems to have moved into her chest. So they probably won’t want a sick kitten even though she still runs around and plays, and they may be reluctant to take the boy since he’s been with her. But none of the cats that have been around her have caught her URI. Also I really want these two to go together because she has been very good for him as he doesn’t see well and she has helped his confidence. So I love these two kittens more than any other fosters but I know I do not need any more cats and if I can’t get them a void home together I just may do something stupid.
