Sailing Maine – a post-vacation MMP

I decluttered, I napped, and I took Nelly to the vet. $302 later:eek:, she’s had her shots, nails trimmed, ear infection treated, and has a fatty deposit on her hind boob. I got a response to my response from a girl on eHarmony.

mmmmm, my fridge is mainly for holding beer and condiments.

Yay!

Ok, I’d really like to go to bed 10 minutes ago, but I’ve got about 17 pounds of chicken on to boil right now.

The good news is that I get to see TVMan tomorrow and (hopefully) start my weekend early. Yay for me, too!

I have decided the rest of this week is sammiches and easy stuff. It’s just too dang hawt to cook big meals. Of course Satiddy I don’t have to lift a finger as I am bein’ feted. I say that means OYKW is at my beck and call all day. He says not as he must play the good host for guests. I say screw the guests, I need a manservant at my beck and call.

Jeez - everyone is cyberflirting but me! :frowning:

We’re planning on sort-of home made hoagies tomorrow. Salami and ham and cheese toasted on thick Italian bread. Simple dinner for weather this shitty.

So what’s a knock-out like you doing in a Mump like this anyway?

doggio…the thing is he drank all the beer as well that I bought last week and didn’t refill!

I have decided I can’t face Wally World tonight it can wait. But grocery shopping must be done so off I go…

Moooooom, do you think that may be a hint that it’s time to upgrade?

The box is two OS’s behind, maybe it is time. (Yes, one of the OS’s WAS written by spastic ADHD addled monkeys…)

Hope your schedules sync up better sometime soon, mmmmmmmm.

Look! It’s an Alien! How are things?

I’ve been out for my walk - needed to hit at least 10,000 steps as this has been a very sluggy week. My team was the best of our little subset of teams last week! This week…well, we’re thinking we’ll be last.

Did I mention somewhere back there that I’m knitting this? Not in that color. I’m not sure that it’s really me, but I figure that worst case, I’ll use it as a scarf under a coat in the winter. It’s really fun to knit.

In other knitting news…I heard on the radio that knitting apparently works kind of like meditation as a stress reliever. Can’t remember which show it was on though. Glad I’m not imagining the part where it makes me feel better. It is quite hypnotic when you get in the groove. I’ll have to research that later.

I’ve decided to have Cheerios with blueberries and banana for dinner. Yes, it’s a bit late, but I’m hungry.

Off to forage.

GT

Give a shot.

He ran out of beer, and didn’t refill? He could lose his Mancard for that.

Go for it, but just remember, don’tlive it up too much! :D:p

Ok, the chicken is done and now I’ve been piled on by several schnoodles and I’m just waiting for my mom to get home from work. Also, I just finished watching Road to Morocco. I think I liked Road to Zanzibar better.

Betcha didn’t know I used to be able to hit that high note at the end.

(missed the edit window) :smack:

eta - and still can - sort of - apparently

etaa - this link includes the action for those unfamiliar with the plot

I thought that one that I linked to (and the companions) were pretty interesting. It’s kinda cool hearing the rehearsals.

I agree - but for those who’ve never seen Mame in any incarnation, or read any of Patrick Denis’ books, it’s not clear until the very end what Gooch is singing about

I understand that. I just meant that I thought the link was cool. And, besides, I knew that you would know what I meant.

Sending good thoughts to Picu&Hubby

Today was the appointment with the vascular surgeon. He’s got me in this special bandage for the next two weeks; it gets changed every 3-4 days. The base is a large gel-like pad which is then covered in material like what is used to make casts, but not wettened, then topped off with a surgical stocking. I’ve been told to wear them, btw, but not the prescription kind. Oh yeah, as long as this bandage thing is on, I can’t really take a shower! The sore actually looked okay today, not as bad as it had been looking. I am sure hoping that this bandage method is going to work: I have to go back next Monday, next Friday, and then the following Wednesday.

In the mean time, I really really need to come up with a diet that will help me to lose weight. One that I’ll be able to follow without feeling like I’m starving! I’m currently looking at: mostly vegetarian, focusing on fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, turkey and chicken. Any suggestions would be -greatly- appreciated!

Three down, 2 to go!

Drivers for a monitor? I just upgraded my monitors at home since I telecommute so much. All I did was plug them in and enjoy. Just to be complete, I “installed” the .inf file from the CD - this is just a tiny text file that tells Windows what the native resolution is and what the associated color management profile is. AFAIK, the .inf file works on everything from Windows 2000 on up to 7.

I’m guessing your problem is actually your video card - you’ve probably exceeded the resolution your computer can manage. You may be able to update the software for the video card, but depending on how old it is, you may need to replace the card with a newer one.

In case you didn’t notice the thread, I have a job now! Starting tomorrow… which means I should be going to bed…

Oh, hello, employed person! tucks Argent Kitten in

Congratulations, STG!

I slept much better last night than I have been lately and I’ve got one decent sized lunch today. After that my mom and I are probably going out for a (belated) birthday lunch for her and then I’ll be probably be axe murdered by the lady who is meeting me to buy something that I posted on craigslist.
