Yes, we all know you post there, so obviously you read there, and you’ve been stirring a good bit of shit recently, a lot of it directed at TPTB, some of it really over the top, some of it like this thread, which is a pretty obvious draw from elsewhere. One doesn’t have to read any other boards to notice these trends in your posting. I can’t help but think it’s flowing from there. If you think that your participation there has no effect whatsoever on what you post here, I think you’re kidding yourself. Obviously you don’t like being called on that connection, and its effect on you as a poster here, but I think it’s quite apparent and very real. Your shit is not as straight as you think it is. Is that not even remotely possible?
And I’m saying this as somoene who actually likes your posts in fora other than this one. You seem like a cool guy who is letting that place affect your thinking. I wish you would lay off it. Of course, you’re as likely to take my advice as Sampiro is to take yours, but a girl can hope.
Look, there’s a difference between reading there, which I have no idea how many people do or don’t or how often, and letting it direct what you post here. If you really don’t think you’re doing that, fine. I think it’s worth contemplating without you getting all defensive about it. But, you know, whatever.

My beef with TPTB has nothing to do with the snackpit. It has to do with what I perceive is a serious trend of bad business practices that I see pop up fairly often.
I say what I have to say about those making as little of a jerk of myself as I can, but I confess I often fall for the crummy responses I tend to get and that affects my own level of response.
I know some people like it here so much that they see any attack on TPTB as a grave offense. I liked it here so much that it hurt to see this great community mismanaged into irrelevance. And got vocal about it.
Does the snackpit affect my personna here? Of course it does. I am not trying to deny that. We are all the sum of our experiences. In more practical terms, some days I do not have time to go over all new threads and I use that as my Cliff Notes to what is going on here. It reduces my browsing here to just CS. Saves a lot of time. I seem to get the vibe that you are saying it is more than that. I am too old for dares and all the high school crap. Sorry. I just don’t have the time or the interest anymore.
And as for my advice to Sampiro, it is honest advice. Pity the one who values a piece of advice based on the person who says it. You might think all evil of me, I still think Sampiro would do well to follow it. Even if it came off the mouth of a snarker.

And sometimes you’re right about it, but your overall style has gotten more aggressive. It seems like showing off sometimes. You accuse Sampire of becoming a “dull, one trick pony.” Look not to the mote in his eye, etc. JMO.
That’s not me-- I don’t care as much about board issues as you do, but sometimes it ticks me off. However, threads like this one do not show you in a good light and seem to be pure snark.
Don’t you think maybe that’s not such a great idea? Because I think it’s really showing in your attitude and content. If it makes you happy, far be it for me, and I do enjoy your posts when they are not grinding those old snark axes.

Even in the pit, you should support what at face value appears to mistaken.

I do remember calling Sampiro on some bull before (I will not provide the details to avoid reopening that mess). That is a long shot from doing it every 6 months, though. I mean, I have been here for just a year, and if I did that 6 months ago, you might technically be correct, but that is some statistics editorializing.
Yes, you should. I used to read at the other place for a while, and I saw a definite bleed-through of the attitudes there into my own posting here. I quit reading there quite a while ago, and the negativity dissipated.

Excellent, and thanks for not just freaking out on me for saying my piece. I don’t want to see you get yourself suspended or banned ala bbs2k, who I also liked but who seemingly self-destructed, partially due to outside influences on his thinking and posting I thought. I do respect you as a poster generally and I appreciate yours of me, and I’d like you to stay around. Not to get too corny or anything in the fucking Pit.
It was a rhetorical question, meant to emphasize the fact that clearly both you and CarnalK dislike Sampiro. I don’t think most of us need reminding about your respective positions. But I guess it’s a bit like wondering if Der Trihs really needs to pit religion again, or whether dogs need to sniff each other’s butts all the time. It’s what they do.
