Anything sounds cool to me. Since I’m new the touristy, or trendy places (sounds kinda like the Redwood Room) even would be cool.
During either Saturday or Sunday afternoon I’m going to try and get to a ballgame since on random chance the Cubbies are in town.
Well they are playing at 1:05 pm on Saturday and Sunday, so I guess Saturday is out. Maybe we should meet at the ballpark on Sunday afternoon and head to the readwood room afterwards. I have no idea what it’s like to get tickets though.
It’s kind of a bitch to get tickets. All Giants home games are sold out … BUT … they hold 500 tickets for each game. You have to stand in line to get a bracelet - after that, if more than 500 bracelets are sold it’s a lottery as to who gets in.
I haven’t stood through this atrocity yet, but I’ve done my research.
The good news is, there’s a standing room area in the back outside the park, which is free, but they rotate people so you can only catch about an inning (or so I’ve heard).
I’m on my way out of town on Sunday, but I can do Saturday ok…I’m having a sort of hard time following the thread, lol. I take it the jist is we so far still have no concrete plans? I’m not sure where the Redwood room is, so I’ll need directions if we pick that. Hopefully it’s on the BART line. If worst comes to worst I suppose we can meet at the Embarcadero Chevy’s like we did for the first meeting? (Ahhhh, memories!)
FYI you probably won’t be able to get game tickets from the window as all the games are 95% sold out for the entire season, but you shouldn’t have a problem buying some from scalpers. Don’t pay more than face value though. In fact I’ve heard if you wait until the first inning starts you can get them half price.

Sunday I plan on getting to the game, and I’ll pay whatever it costs to get into the park. I looked up the 500 day-of-game tickets, and I’ll look into doing that. Otherwise if the weather is iffy scapled tickets should be plentiful. I’ll find a way, but keep that time open cause I really wanna see that game. I’ll get a concensus of where I should sit from you guys hopefully.
There are a few things I’d like to see, and I’m not sure how I’ll get to them all, and if renting a car is going to save me time or not. I’d like to get to the ballpark obviously, Stanford’s campus, Berkley, Haight-Ashbury, The Golden Gate, and you lushes. So, tonite I’m going to see if its practical to plan out a itinerary and still be flexible for you guys.
Uh, you realise this is like 500 miles worth of driving, right? None of these things are remotely near each other, lol! It would be like if I were coming to Chicago and said I wanted to see Gary, Gurnee Mills, Elgin and Aurora!
So maybe we say 5pm at redwood room on Sunday? Then we take it from there. I’ll let others choose Saturday, I can’t go, although if you want to stop by my work I wouldn’t mind.

I live about 5 minutes from the Oakland airport. I could probably help you with east bay stuff (Berkeley) and finding a hotel in Oakland, which is probably cheaper than SF and still only about 10 minutes away by BART.
If folks want to get together on Saturday night I might be able meet you at the airport and get you into the city.

Saturday night would allow me to go without risking losing my job, but like I said before, I’m in either way.

Damn! I’d like to go, but I really dont know if I can make it this weekend. :(.
OldS. I would love to, but this weekend is my anniver, and by tradition we spend most of it at the “tapestry in talent” downtown SJ street fair. But, if you guys get a solid time & loc, say, Sunday eve, I will try.
So if I’m not being presumptuos let me put forth a plan. Saturday? I don’t know, get together where ever you guys see fit. The mission is always fun though. I also recomend zeitgeist for a good bar, they have food there too. If you want you can stop by my work. But, it is house music (albeit good house music) and it’s a $10 cover, so if you aren’t enthused don’t do it. I work at rawhide at 280 7th st at folsom. For dinner and drinks I also recommend the The Zodiac Club. it’s an old hangout of mine and they have very good drinks and food.
On Sunday Omni wants to go to a giants game, I might try and join you for that in fact. I still ahven’t seen them at pac bell park, Maybe we can arrange to have everyone meet at 12pm at MoMo’s (right across the street from the stadium) in their court yard. Then we meet at 5pm at the Redwood room at 495 Geary St. It’s just a few blocks from the powell st bart station. We could hang out there until 7:30 pm and then go find dinner in the area.
Monday we leave to Omni to do tourist stuff.

If he wants me to I’ll pick him up and get him settled in someplace on Saturday, maybe dinner in Berkeley or something and then we can track folks down or come find you at work Oldscratch. You said there’s a $10 cover, is there a dress code?
I’m a jeans and t-shirts girl, and I expect omni might be a little worse for wear after a plane ride, so this could take planning if there is.
Sorry if I missed somebody else, but Demo or Vogue Vixen, do you have suggestions for Saturday night?
No dress code. It’s a pretty casual place. You get people who actually come to hang out, listen to music, and have a good time, rather than people showing off or into meat markets. My idea of what a club should be. And for dinner I was thinking of Plouf or something of the like. They are pretty good. Maybe someone who has a cell-phone (I don’t) could send the number to those interested in meeting up later. Or maybe we could make definete plans tomorrow. who knows.
