Santo Rugger (RIP Santo Rugger)

Good news! Hang tough, Santo! You can do it!

Hang in there, Santos!

No it’s not, not always. Thanks, to you and to the other parents who care for, nurture and respect their children.

Offering prayers afresh for Santo’s recovery at the new hospital. Watch out Denver, here he comes!

SantoRuggersMom, that’s tremendous good news! Craig Institute is an absolutely terrific place and does top-notch rehab.

Thanks so much for all the updates.

Go Santo Go!

whoooooo hoooooo! most excellent news. best of luck in denver.

We made it! The flight went perfectly and we are in Denver. Craig Hospital is a beautiful facility and I know Santo is in exactly the right place. I almost can’t express the relief we feel knowing that he is in such good hands. We feel like a huge weight has been lifted. Can’t wait to give you updates!

Woohoo! Glad you all arrived safely!

I’m glad you arrived safely. Give us updates when you can.

StG

YAY! You must be exhausted and filled with such relief!

Lock up your daughters, Colorado.

How wonderful! I’m glad you can* feel *that it’s the right place.

Please pass this on, SantoRuggersMom:

Hi Santo. Miss you dude! Sending much love.

I’m glad for any and all of the good news in this thread.

Perhaps I missed it, but you must have some very good insurance. I can’t even imagine what all of this must be costing. I’m insured, but I doubt my policy would cover all of this.

Santo does have a great insurance plan. Yes, some cost is associated with getting Santo what he needs. His and our wealth however, is in the awesome support and prayers that SDMB is providing. Just when we feel like we are all beat up and can’t go on, we get a word of encouragement. That in itself makes us wealthy beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you all for everything you are doing.

Will the Rugger Parents please remind Pat that he said we’d go out for margaritas at Del Charro LAST summer, and since I’ll be out of country for most of the rest of this year, I’m looking for him to be ready to head there sometime next year? Thus, he needs to get better.

I’ll be rooting for him, and checking in on this until he leaves. I’m glad you all made it to Denver alright.

Glad to hear the trip went well !!

My brother spent a few months at Craig a couple of years ago. They truly are a fantastic place, and will take great care of him. Good luck!

So glad to hear you’ve arrived and that it’s the right place! Looking forward to more updates.

When the flight nurses came to Albuquerque hospital to pick up Santo, it felt like the Marines had landed. That’s the only way I can really describe how we felt!

He’s a bit tired today. He’s had every test imaginable and was fitted for a chair. He looks so awesome. He seems just as relieved as we are.

We are surely blessed!!!

Glad to hear the flight went well. After looking up Craig, it sounds like exactly the right place for him to rehab.

Thanks, SantoParents for the updates. Y’all are still in my thoughts. Please tell Santo that we’re looking forward to his return to the Dope.
