Santo Rugger (RIP Santo Rugger)

Thank you for the update. It’s a really good thing to hear that there’s still progress, slow as it may be.

Best wishes to you all.

I wasn’t even a member when this thread started. I’ve never even seen a post from SantoRugger.

I just read this whole thread hoping to see a post saying “I’m back!”. I think I’ll keep reading it
until it happens.

Best wishes!

Thanks so much for the update! I’m sure the progress seems painfully slow, but just think how far Pat has come since last Thanksgiving! And of course, you have that fact that you still have him to be thankful for!

Thanks for the update, and yes, progress must be measured in slow increments, but it IS being measured!

Looking forward to Santo getting his life back fully, and resuming posting on the Dope and recounting the experience.

Happy holidays Mrs. Garcia. I hope Pat keeps improving.

Thanks for the update

Thanks for the update, and good wishes to your family again.

Happy Holidays to y’all! Thanks for the update Mom.

This.

thank you for the update. i’m sure it gets frustrating, and the year has been up and down, however he has come so far from where he was a year ago. that is very much something for which to be thankful.

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. It’s nice to know that you are all out there cheering him on and supporting our family as well. I forgot to tell you that the PT has been putting Santo in the standing frame three days a week. He’s making good progress in that department.

Was he able to eat turkey?

Standing!!! YES!!!

SRM - That’s great news! I know the progress seems incremental, but go back and look at some of your earliest posts. Progress is there, and the fact that he’s still improving is great. I remember when my mother first had her stroke, the doctors and PTs were saying that almost all of her improvement would be in the first three months, and it would go drastically downhill from there - that wasn’t the case with her. She continued to improve throughout the years after her stroke. Keep your spirits up, and keeping see the change that’s before your eyes. It’s like watching a baby grow. You don’t see the big changes, as much as you suddenly realize they’re doing things they weren’t a few weeks or months ago.

Just want to second this.

Terrific!!!

While we’re talking encouragement and all - I assume the PO box from last Christmas is still good for cards and stuff?

Yes, still a good address!

whoa!! standing! that is amazing. finestkind of news that.

Excellent news! Thanks for the update. Good thoughts and prayers heading out for the whole Garcia family.
