The problem with this is that she just sees it as About Her, and her problems, without having an overarching view toward her duties as Governor. That’s been her biggest problem all along, to see political office as a work of service, and not as Sarah the Maverick personality, accent on the work part. She came in as a charismatic candidate, and, now, especially with the Vanity Fair piece, sees her charisma dwindling, with people close to her speaking out at her shallowness.

This reminds me of an interview of Tina Fey I saw during the campaign (wish I could find a cite!) about Fey’s portrayal of Palin, and her impressions after having met her.

The question was: Is there more to Sarah Palin than meets the eye?
Fey answered, in kind of an astonished tone but with complete seriousness: “No, there’s less. If you can believe that, there’s less to Sarah Palin than meets the eye.”

I think we now have confirmation of Tina’s observation.

It’s probably inevitable that she’ll end up with a show on Fox News. I wonder who they’ll shitcan to make room for her. She’ll probably want something better than a weekend show. My money’s on Greta getting transferred to some graveyard shift. Kind of ironic since Greta has been one of Palin’s most loyal sycophants.

I’d love it if Sarah demanded O’Reilly or Hannity’s time slot. She’s got to think she’s a bigger ratings draw than they are, and she might be right. It would be hilarious if she was able to bigfoot one of their timeslots. Their egos are far more precious to them than any ideology.

Yeah and isn’t Greta a Scientologist? That’s something I can’t imagine would play well, if widely known, among Fox’s target demographic.

Anyone remember the URL for that interactive Palin page? The one where you click on things (“Mavverick,” “Iranistan,” etc.)? I’d love to see if it’s been updated recently.

I looked for a while, but couldn’t find it right away. I’d have kept on looking, but that would have been against the spirit of the thread.
