SAT & ACT- how did you score?

1200 on the SAT. 600 and 600. I might have done better on the math if I had taken the SAT while still in highschool, but instead I took it a few years after. However, I might have done worse on the verbal - who can say?

SAT - 1563 - 763 Verbal, 800 math. This was in 1968, so you have to add a hundred points or so to compare to today’s scores

No one in my school took the ACT. I only knew about it because I worked in the College Office of my high school.

I also got 800s on all three Achievement Tests my first choice college wanted.

I also got the second highest score in Queens county on the Regents scholarship exam, and was in the top 20 in NY State. I got my name in the NY Times.

I loooove standardized tests!

680 Verbal
780 Math

Only time I took it. Didn’t take the ACT. I don’t remember my PSAT scores, but I was one of only 2 national merit semifinalists in my school.

That being said, I think the SATs are a waste of time and not a terribly good judge of future ability.

What I really regret is not taking my AP tests. I took four AP courses my senior year (English, Physics, Biology, and Math (Calculus or Pre-calc, I forget)), but the only AP test I took was English. Kind of a waste to take the courses, but not the tests.

I didn’t take high school very seriously, which really affected my college choices.

Oh well, live and learn.

Took the SAT in 1997, got a 1580 (800m, 780v).

I’ve never known anyone who took the ACT.

SAT 1300 (1983)
SAT 1450 (1984)

GRE 2320 - V 750, Q 770, A 800 (1990)
GRE Music 650 (95%) (1990)

GMAT 740 (1991)

I don’t remember taking my SATs, but I remember that the General GRE was relatively unchallenging. I took the General one in the morning and the Music Subject one in the afternoon, and trust me, the Subject one made me sweat blood. Never again.

SAT in 1971: 680 math, 710 verbal. Highest score in my HS class.

So off I go to Berkeley (by the way, 1390 wouldn’t even get a whiff of interest from Berkeley these days) feeling oh so cocky, and meet my randomly assigned roommate, who had a 1500, and his best friend, the 1600. Took me down a peg.

1984 - junior - ACT score 25 (There were bees and it was VERY crowded - the guy behind me cheated off my scoresheet and got a 20)

1985 - Senior - ACT score 30 (that I could live with)

Never took the SAT

ACT - 33
SAT - 1410

The year was 1997…

In 1997:

ACT: 32
SAT: 1420 (750 verbal, 650 math)
GPA: 3.973  at graduation in 1998

ACT - 28

At my school, I never heard of anyone taking it multiple times.

I have taken tons of standardized tests for various reasons since leaving high school, and I’ve learned that going though as many practice books as you can will definitely help your score.

In 1979:

SAT: 1499

I thought I had done badly because I was 100 points short. Since I was attending a vocational school (to hack off my mother), my counselor was really shocked. and had to explain the concept of “percentiles” to me.

Also,

I don’t remember the exact score of my MCATs, it was in the 30’s and my GREs in the 90th percentile.

I’m good at standardized tests!

SAT in 2001, no studying: 1400
SAT’s in 2002, having done about 7 practice exams during the summer, refusing to shell out cash for kaplan or some other BS course: 1560

Made $800 as well by saving the prep course cash,

I got a 1470 on the PSAT (in 1995), and a 1450 on the SAT (in 1996).

I also got a very respectable 159 on the LSAT (which ranges from 120 to 180), considering I just woke up one morning and took it completely cold. I only applied to one law school, and the score was enough to get me in, so I was quite content.

I got a 1500 on the SAT and a 33 on the ACT, both last year.

I also think I’m something like a National Merit commended scholar, but they never actually told me if that was true or not…I was just handed a letter saying “Hey, you’re in the National Merit competition” and I never heard anything after that. This will bug me for ages. Sure, I know I’m not a semifinalist or finalist since I didn’t have to write an essay, but I would like to know if I can legitimately call myself a commended scholar.

I bet the guidance office at my high school is holding out on me.

I just got done with both of those tests.

SAT: 1450 - 730 verbal, 720 math. I was actually hoping I did better on this test, but geometry and analogies were too much for me.

ACT: 33 - 36 in science woooo!!

I also got a 218 on my PSAT I believe, which should be enough to make me a semi-finalist. I’m really hoping these scores will help me out with my college bills.

1390 on the SAT in 1992. Never took the ACT.

SAT: 1290 overall, 650 verbal, 640 math
ACT: 34 overall, don’t remember the breakdown
GRE: can’t remember overall, but 2 of the sections were 800.

Each of them was taken the day after something unexpected came up and I didn’t get more than 2 hours of sleep. I have always wondered how I would do if I took one of the tests while I was actually awake. :stuck_out_tongue: The first 2 were in 1979, the GRE was in 1989.

SAT 1480
I ACED the verbal & was very proud of myself. The math was a highly successful experiment in probability. Don’t recall the breakdown as I’m not really good with numbers.
ACT 29 (when the highest was 31–aced the verbal on that too)
(so I guess that means I got 31 on verbal/27 on math?)
I could dig out the ol’ transcript but I’m too honkin’ lazy. I just had to do that a few days ago for a job interview that wanted my transcript. I graduated 30 years ago–how relevant could it be?
But at the time I took those tests I had *no[i/] intention of going to college. I only took 'em because somebody said I ought to and they were the kind you didn’t have to study for . . . my favorite kind. The results changed my mind. Not necessarily for the better.

ACT: 30 (Crap, I feel st00pid now) 35 on Reading, which was odd when I remembered that reading always used to be one of my weakest subjects.

The highest I heard of in my school was a 32. He was also the only National Merit Semifinalist in my class, so he got that scholarship–when he already had a full ride. AND he won all the scholarships I applied for. AND he stole my title as saluditorian. Bastard.

You guys get full rides for just having high test scores? I hate Wisconsin. I have no idea how to get money here besides being an athlete or doing absolutely everything besides athletics. Grr.
