Did the bible belt win out? Naw, but Satan is moving out of Raleigh on 12/6 and I would like to try to have a get together to see him off no later than 12/5. Anyone interested?

I doubt that I can be there for a farewell party, due to various commitments, unless it’s this Sunday, and even then I honestly don’t know. 
But I just found out about it myself.
Surgo & RT - I know that it’s short notice and everyone is busy, but I’m hoping that I can at least reach some of the Raleigh and surrounding area posters that would be available. Wish you could be here, but I understand.

Do some of you Dopers know each other personally? Beyond the confines of the www? Or are you speaking of a virtual get together? If you people do know one another personally, how many are you?
I would love to be able to make it but having no vehicle that will make the hideous drive I am going to have to pass. For those of you who will get to go, please tell him I wish him the best of luck and to try and come back down here and visit every now and then!
Arthur, yes, some of us do know each other off the boards. People routinely get together and visit with each other in different locations.

When talking Strom Thurmond we’re talkin’ the walking dead. He cacked around 1974 but thanks to skilled taxidermy and clever sound effects, the corpse has propped up in Congress for a few decades, pullin’ in pork.
Which isn’t South-bashing, btw. We tried it up here w/ a dead periodontist from Elgin, but the wires in his teeth kept screwing up the soundtrack.

I could do it this Friday–Dec. 1st–like a dinner or something in the afternoon/evening. Sadly that’s the only day I can pull out of my currently busy schedule.

Actully many of us do know each other in real life. The various “Dopefests” are real events. There are about 10,000 registered Dopers. Of course not everyone makes it to the live events, but the ones who do take pictures!
