…Atlanta to be exact!

I always go to one Giants game a year, and this year - due to closeness of the event and budgetary constraints (and the possibility my team might actually win when I am in attendance for a change) - I’m going to go to go see the Giants when they play the Falcons on Sunday October 8!

A friend of mine (fellow Giant fan I met in Raleigh) is flying in from Dallas to hang with me, but I told him all about the board and wanting to meet some of you guys and he’s fine with it. He’s okay for someone from Connecticut… :slight_smile:

We will be staying at the Quality Inn Hotel downtown (on Luckie Street only a mile from the stadium), I will be arriving by car sometime late afternoon on the preceeding Saturday (10/7) and I would love to get together with anyone from Atlanta and surrounding that evening!

Someone who knows the lay of the land can suggest a nearby place, maybe, for eats and beverages?

Who wants to welcome this Yankee-loving yankee into the land of sweet tea and southern hospitality? Since I don’t smoke anymore, I promise not to burn anything like the last couple of times the Yankees came down… :wink:

Seriously, I really hope to hang with everyone who can make it… So whose up for it?

Are you heading back up on Sunday night? The weekend is doubtful for me but a Monday lunch thing would work like a charm.

Well, Satan, if you were going to be there between Christmas and New Years instead of October, I’d meet up with you in a heartbeat. I’ve noticed that the Georgia contingent has been somewhat inactive on this board lately. Try sending out some individual emails and see what happens.

I’m a fan of Mick’s- there’s one in Underground Atlanta, as well as several other places around the city…don’t know about their drinks-but I love the Chicken Pot Pie.

Drinks…haven’t had much of a chance to go drinking since I’ve been here, though I was at John Harvard’s Brewhouse a couple of weeks ago, and really like the different beers.

Ummm…dunno if I’ll be in town-may be in Baltimore that weekend if I can arrange it, but I’d love to meet some people, although I am still a relative newbie here. :wink:

Satan, I’ll be around on October 7th and 8th, and I’d very much enjoy meeting you. But I also have other plans for those days; Five stays busy 24/7. Can you be more specific about your availability?

And FYI, don’t come down here looking to bait me with any Giants/Falcons talk. There few things on Earth I’m less interested in than football.

Contrariwise, if talk turns to baseball, watch yo’ mouth talkin’ trash 'bout my Bravos…

'Sides, after the way the Braves have dealt with the Mets in Turner Field the past few years . . . 6-21 doesn’t give you a whole helluva lot to brag about.
