Why is it every time I leave town someone hosts a NC Doper party? In March, I was in Hilton Head/Savannah. Now, on Father’s Day weekend, my dad & I will be at the US Open at Pebble Beach. How about if I just ship a full-size cardboard likeness to the bar?

A cardboard cutout is an interesting idea, though. It might just work. Satan and Surgoshan were bandying the idea of wearing little gladiator outfits around, you’ll miss that.

the Ponchster and his gaggle of foxy disco momma’s can’t make it…gonna be at the beach, driving up to Delaware to hang with some of my DC pals for a week.
I’m unsually in Raleigh about once a week…Ponch’s pad’s in Charlotte.
On a side note…my fondest memory of Hayes Barton Grill, actually it was the pharmacy with a soda shop…I digress…
anyway, pulling up, made a mad dash to one of the angled parking spots that had just become open…slammed my brakes just in time to avoid hitting the charicature of a man who was trying to cross the street. That is the story of how I almost ran over Jesse Helms. Enjoy.

Looks like potentially a bunch of us are headed down from DC, then. I’m going; weirddave may go but Tris is probably not going; Sqrl and Mark possibly, and Phil and Leigh-Anne possibly.
Should we start thinking about coordinating transportation? I’m driving down Friday evening, and headed back up in time for most of the DC get-together in Greenbelt. I’ve got a new car that’s roomy enough to be comfortable with 4 people. I’ve already looked into inexpensive motels in the Raleigh area, and am willing to share info with those who want it.

As much as I would love to attend, (I see how you all are. I plan a Doper meeting and four people show up (albeit, GOOD people), put Satan’s name on it and they come out of the #@%$&*# woodwork…) my hubby and I will not be able to attend. It seems my father is throwing a suprise 40th birthday party for my mother on that very day!
But hey, maybe I’ll plan another one and the three people who live in the area who don’t go to this one can show up!
