If you’re not familiar w/ that area, the best pizza place in town (IMHO), Lilly’s, is a couple of doors down from the pharmacy, beside a coffee shop, and there are a couple of bars right across the street.

While all these folks are together in Raleigh and then DC on the 17th, we will start making loose plans for the last week in August. Chief, you might pitch in some ideas as to where you are willing to travel to (ie NC or VA, ect…).

Sorry, everyone, but I have to remove myself from “tentative” and send my regrets. I am under the gun for a thesis draft and, as I mentioned earlier, my SO is going to be moving a truckload of his stuff to Greenville over the weekend, and I just don’t think I can get up to Raleigh. 
Put me on the invite list for next time?

I had a thought on this, which I will share now, and can expand on later. If Chief knows some good places in the Va Beach/Norfolk/Hampton area for us to meet, the DC and NC Dopers could all meet there, since it’s sorta kinda in the middle of all of us. (Besides, I’ve PROMISED Chief I’d make it down there for the next Norfolk gathering, and if it’s not this time, I know he’ll hold me to it for NEXT time.)
Anyway, just a thought and a bump. Wish you could make it, Chiefy…I want to (finally) meet you!
Unfortunately, it has come to look like I won’t be able to get to NC either. I have to be in Philly friday for work, and doubt I could make it back to DC to meet up with RTF, Sqrl an dc. I am sorry, it’s a disapointment to me too. If things change last minute, I’ll be there, but better count on me more for next time.
