Remember when going out was fun on the weekends?
Well, I never really did all that, but, I can see where it would be fun.
Myself? I’m reading the Dope. Trying to keep the kids/pets entertained.
The family are planning a ‘Trivial pursuit’ tournament.
They won’t let me play. (Yeah, I’m that good😋)
I made chocolate chip cookie dough. If there’s any left after everyone has had a spoonful, me and the kids will bake some cookies. I’ll only get to smell. But, that’s ok.
Tell ol’ beck what you’re up to, this fine evening.
I’ll crack open a beer and watch the Opry at 7. It streams live on YouTube. It’s a bit odd without an audience but the musicians are determined to keep the Saturday night tradition going.
Afterwards I’ll play my guitar. Sing a few songs with the family. We may play Canasta. Depends on how sleepy we are.
Just got done mowing and now I’m waiting to stop sweating so I can go take a shower. Then I’ll probably just settle in and watch some Netflix with my wife. We’re old and boring!
Whelp, lessee, just woke up from a sneak attack by the z monster so technically it’s not Saturday now. I was planning on taking Vaderling to the drive in theater to see something child oriented or other and Godzilla King of Monsters(2019?)
So saturday night may be right for fighten but if your fighten the z monster and lose, you’re going down
I have absolutely not the slightest scintilla of a doubt that this is true. Not.One.Scintilla. I won’t play Scrabble with you either. Spoons, maybe. You finish your beer first, better yet, several beers.
Reading SD waayy too late into this good night. Half-heartedly scolding myself for what I didn’t get done today. But since it is the same things I haven’t gotten done for the last six days, meh. Resting up to drive across town (all of 14 minutes, it is the Midwest after all) to spend Sunday with my 3yo granddaughter. It’s what I live for all week. We are in all kinds of cahoots. It’s great fun. At least as much fun as when I was raising her mother. I mean, where does she think she got her cahooting from? Sheesh.
Tuna salad sandwich and sweet corn for supper-food of the gods. Then my roommie broke open her package of Mega Stuft Oreos. Where have those been all my life?
Let’s not bring up corn, please.
I pulled, shucked and blanched somewhere around 500ears on Weds. I’m not over it yet.
I sent Son-of-a-wrek out to chop the stalks down lest they produce more and he brought me back 1/2 bushel I missed. Ugh!
Oh, BBB, I’m the champion Scrabble player here as well.
They hate me on game nights.
So, I hide with my Sooper seekrit’phone and do bad things I shouldn’t do.
I was never terribly good at Scrabble, so you’d win there, but I’d be all over Trivial Pursuit. Yeah, I’m that good too.
Rather nice late afternoon/evening here. Met some friends at a local bar (safely, of course) to watch a baseball game on TV. Ended up getting something to eat there. Just a nice lazy summer Saturday.
Our exciting evening consisted of FCD clicking between various movies on TV - mostly 2001 - while I played mindless games on my tablet when I wasn’t letting the dog out or in. Come to think of it, that’s fairly typical of all of our evenings, with different movies. But even in pre-plague days, we rarely went out after dinner.
We escaped to the mountains, wearing masks all the way. We had drinks and dinner in a restaurant, and we sat inside. Fell asleep listening to the gurgling of the creek which runs by the hotel.
I never was much for fun on Saturday night. Mostly since I coached youth soccer, and most Saturdays I was at the fields for 6-8 hours coaching and refereeing, so I didn’t have a lot of energy left to do much… Now with no soccer, still don’t do much.
Need to find a new on-line coming to replace Schlock Mercenary, so moving through the archive of “Freefall”, through 1250 of 3460 strips, and it’s…readable, if not compelling. Have 4-5 other recommendations to try after this one, so that should keep me entertained for awhile.
Oh, also subscribe to Noel Philips channel on You Tube, he gets to fly on airplanes all over the world and talk about it, and for some reason I like that, so that take’s another hour as I’m working backwards through his travels.
