Saturday, Sunday, Punday - a New MMP

Sounds like fun. The minor league team near my in-laws is the IronPigs, a play on the pig iron which was used by Bethlehem Steel and they usually go to a game or two each year. Wouldn’t mind going to a game at least once.

Love hearing the good news about Mrs Magill.

Thursday was a holiday, and then Friday was supposed to be a day off, but I have too much work to do before a certain due date. So I got a bit caught up and managed to move stuff around on my desk a bit and dust.

Today’s the trip to the recycling/trash center, to get rid of some more stuff. Probably need to do it couple more times to call it done, but at least we’re making progress.

Today’s St. Sophia’s day, so the weather has decided to celebrate as well, and it’s nippy outside. It will rain this afternoon, so probably some laziness will ensure.

No frost though. For those who aren’t familiar with the ice saints (I had never heard of them before moving to Switzerland), a bit of learning for your Saturday:

Happy Saturday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort. The closest minor league baseball team doesn’t have a wild name, but they did feature in a movie

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 82 and N.O.S. for the day. Might even open up da cave widows a little later this mornin’. Nice! The big item on today’s agenda is mowage. We are in danger of becomin’ the worst lookin’ yahd in da hood! :astonished: Other than that, who knows. Don’t know what sup will be, but it shall involve takeout.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

The Blue Crabs aren’t a minor league team - they’re part of Atlantic League Professional Baseball and while some players in this league do go to play in the Majors, this is a league of its own. I think Brooks Robinson is one of the owners of our team. It’s lots closer and definitely lots cheaper than MLB, and it’s just fun. Altho FCD does want to go see the Nationals play at least once. So we may do that before the summer is out.

I’m definitely achy after my physical labors yesterday - mostly from being bent over as I mudded the bottom of the walls. I’ll be bending more today to sand those same areas as well as painting. Maybe I’ll take some tylenol before I start? Anyway, the goal is to have the bottom half of the walls done today. No other plans, as if I needed any.

Daughter had some bloodwork done yesterday, and one sample was sent off for genetic testing. In 2 weeks, she’ll find out if Baby 2.0 is a girl or a boy. She thinks it’s a boy (mother’s intuition?) but I’m holding out for another girl. That will certainly make things easier - then the girls could share a room. (Share a bedroom?? The horror!!!) They just have a 2BR house and if they have a boy, they’d need to look into moving eventually or somehow remodeling so they can add another bedroom. Altho in any event, that’s a few years down the road.

Breakfast has been ingested and the critters have been tended to. I’ve got some more morning surfing to finish before I hit the showers, don my grubbies, and get to work.

Happy Saturday!!

Good morning and happy Saturday, everyone.

I am glad to hear that Mrs. Magill continues to feel better.

I have a trip to Lowe’s planned because I need a hose sprayer and few other items. I want to know that trip out fairly early this morning because traffic around here, especially on a beautiful weekend, is just stupid crazy. The weather is supposed to be very nice, with temps reaching the mid-70s. The yard waste bin was emptied yesterday, so I need to get back to work on pulling weeds. I am sure I’ll have it filled up in a matter of a couple of days.

FCM, my kids (girl and boy) shared a bedroom until my daughter was 13 years old and my son was 10. We finally moved to a bigger house and they each got their own room. It wasn’t ideal, but it was what we had to do. Up until we moved, we lived in a two-bedroom, one-bath house that 1245 square feet. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t change your mind in it.

I will receive my second COVID vaccine (Moderna) this upcoming week. They actually moved the appointment up by a day. I think I already told you that, but I can’t remember. However, my husband will receive his first shot this Monday. I finally just dialed the number FOR him and handed him the phone so he could make an appointment. He kept talking about doing it, but would never call, so I just forced him into it. He wants the shots but seems to just procrastinate on EVERYTHING and it drives me nuts! If were to make the appointments for him, he’d complain about the time slot, so this was on him.

Well, I need to get on about my day. Stuff to do, body aches to create via hard work, fresh air to smell.

No second sort today, but I still made good time for the week. 2nd load of laundry is done and the critters have had First Breakfast. Nap time!

Good morning!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a little cleanup on the patio done and a load of jeans in the wash. Fixing to do KP, then purtify to go to Lowes for plants.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Cloudy here today. Getting my second Moderna in a couple of hours. No other real plans for the day, other than wrangling my new phone case some more. The screen protector is stiff, but has adhesive, so I cannot seem to get it on there without air bubbles that do NOT have favorable visual results. The adhesive doesn’t seem to want to wash off, either.

Hashbrowns and deadpig strips are cooking.

Afternoon, all!!

I got some tomatoes, basil, and marigolds planted this morning. Nothing else on tap for the day, except listening to the Sox play at 4. I’ll think about mowing the lawn later, like putting it off to tomorrow later.

Afternoon all. Had to referee at 8:30am so left the house early and then coached at 10:30am so taking a short refreshment break (cheese on rye and a Pepsi) before heading to my 1:30pm game. Next Saturday is the last games of the spring, so I’ll have to find something else to do.

Wizard, red, my plans, such as they are, have me coming back via Nashville from Clarksville that morning, so if you want to suggest a meetup place (Zoo? Science Center? Someplace you guys like?) I’m all for it. Just leave me sober enough to drive the last 100 miles home that night.

Everyone have a good day today. Mowage is tomorrow.

Happy Saturday! I haven’t been on for a couple days because I had nothing to report, but I’ve read all. I must have developed an allergy, as I have a runny nose and sore throat, and I’m wheezy. I don’t know where my inhaler is, as I so rarely use it. It can’t be a cold, with all that masking.

Nevertheless, heading to the gym later on. I went yesterday, but as I was stretching, my nephew called, and so I talked to him for an hour (He has issues he likes to talk to me about.) while I walked back and forth behind the gym. I don’t think that’s what “going to the gym” is supposed to mean.

We never decided between Magic and Wizard for Magus_Magill. I think “Nancy” was in contention, but I don’t recall why. Anyway, I’m going with Magic. If that’s wrong, someone let me know. Nothing worse than getting called the wrong name.

Also, @Seanette , I know you don’t like the nettie nickname, so I don’t feel right using it. There’s been no consensus on a new one, though. Is it OK if I call you Sea Net or maybe the synonymous Seine? Or is there a nickname you’d prefer?

Hugs all around!

So far, we haven’t gotten me renamed. None of the suggestions yet have really jumped out at me.

Just got back from being shot and acquiring supplies just in case I’m down for a few days. Dunno yet which way the side effects question will go for me. (Moderna dose 2) Golden Arches Catering handled lunch.

The alleged drivers in this area aren’t getting any smarter as things open up. (grump)

Is that your new bird Pearl in your avatar? She’s a beauty~could we start calling you Pearl?

No, that’s my prior bird, Ava. Current featherhead Misty is white.

Hashbrowns, cackleberries, and deadpig strips have been consumed.

We took the Jeep into town and got kitty kibble and cat litter, then back up here for other things. I bought a very large hunka deadpig, so we’ll be pullin’ the pork tomorrow.

I think I’ll take the MG down to the self-wash, and then stow the hood in the boot.

Misty sounds like a nice name, Seanette; up to you.

Coaching is done for the day, girls won 5-0 and the other coach got thrown out of the game for complaining about the ref (where the ref could here him), so an interesting afternoon. temperature is 78F, so can’t complain about the weather. Mowage tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

I can go with Magic, nellie; will try to change my habits on that.

Need to add more fluids so all y’all take care.

Their house is just under 1100 sq ft, 2/1, tho the bathroom is a decent size. They could possibly split the master into 2 much smaller bedrooms if necessary, but I don’t know if their lot is big enough to permit an addition to the house. They’ll figure it out. And in 3 or 4 years, they might be able to afford a bigger place. Who knows…

BBBoo - Pearl has already been attached to janis_and_c0, even tho she rarely posts any longer. I have no other suggestions, alas.

The bottom half of the basement walls are all painted. After I cut in around the trim, FCD and I went to Cracker Barrel because he wanted a veggie plate. When our food was brought out, the server dropped a dish on our table which knocked over my soda all over the table and me and the floor. It was an accident and they were quick to clean it up and make sure we had all our food, but I still had to sit there with a wet leg and shirt. (Once I got home, I soaked and sprayed the shirt - hope it doesn’t stain!) I was rather surprised that they didn’t comp the soda… or anything for that matter. I wasn’t going to make an issue of it, but it was surprising. I may go to their website… No, I won’t pull a Karen… :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, it’s time to assume the crochet position. Tomorrow, I’ll start painting the top half of the walls. That should go pretty quickly - light color over white. I’ll let it all dry for a week, then do the trim next weekend. But for now, I’m done.

They should have insisted on comping the tab for the entire table. Sheesh, what were they thinking?

And you wouldn’t be pulling a Karen~do it! The manager also should have given you their business card and told that they want to replace your shirt and pants if the stain doesn’t easily wash out. Someone was really asleep at the switch.

“Seagull”? The first three letters of your name, plus the bird. Or “Seagirl”?
