The “no proof of life” aspect is worrying, especially considering her health issues. And the kidnappers hiding a possible fatality while trying to squeeze out a ransom is sadly reminiscent of the Lindbergh kidnapping in 1932 (the baby was probably killed accidentally during the kidnapping, but the ransom demands continued)
Kidnappers are usually someone with a connection to the victim and who knows where they live: a workman, a drug-addled nephew, a housekeeper’s husband, dog walker, home healthcare worker’s husband, etc. Seems likely she has already died without her meds though, and now they’re unsure how to proceed.
As an aside while we await any new information, and relating to Savannah Guthrie herself…she is one of the highest profile people at NBC and on morning news shows. I am sure there are people that have not heard of her, but many others have. What does she do when this all ends, one way or another - will she be able to go back to what she was doing before?
My guess is that she’s dead because of her fragile condition and lack of medications. The kidnappers likely dumped her somewhere and she’ll be found eventually.
I figured. I just don’t know this Savannah lady or her world so I wasn’t even sure where that assumption came from. In fact, when she said Savannah Guthrie I thought she said Giuffre and I thought it was Virginia Giuffre’s mother who had been kidnapped, which resulted in a lot of confusion when she blamed it on the Epstein case.
Yet another way to look at it would be: it’s nearly impossible to imagine why people of good faith who go out of their way to be well and fully informed would ever accord Donald J. Trump the benefit of the doubt.

I wonder how many people go missing in the US every day. I wish they all got the attention and resources that Ms. Guthrie’s case is getting.
Lots of people go missing but I think kidnapping for ransom is rare and because of the nature of it, this would only affect the wealthy.
Do we know what her medications are? I’m not going to die immediately without my statin, blood pressure and thyroid meds but it wouldn’t be a good thing if I didn’t take them for a while. It would technically be life threatening.
Folks, this is a thread about a kidnapping, not about Trump. We have lots of threads for arguing about why many board members hate Trump, let’s not let this devolve into another, just because he said something about the case.
(To be clear, that he said something about it is relevant. But must of the rest of the discussion about him isn’t.)
I see reporting that she had a pace maker. I’m not sure if that correlates to daily medicine, or gives any insight into her medical needs.
More concerning, I’d think, is the reporting that her blood was found at the scene. I’m just not optimistic that she’s survived - my unfounded speculation is that she might have come upon a home robbery, and was killed as a result.
Then again, a celebrity family kidnapping reminds me of some famous ones in the past - Frank Sinatra son and J. Paul Getty’s grandson. In those cases, it really was about obtaining ransom money.
(Although in the Getty case, the rich magnate refused to pay the quoted price)
No, it doesn’t (to both questions). A pacemaker does not correlate with the need for daily medication, but apparently she did have such medication needs for other reasons.
I keep going back to this thread hoping that there’s a break in the case, but it seems to be taking awhile despite all the resources devoted to it.
